Synopsis

Komugi is elated to have turned into a human, but Iroha asks her how she became one in the first place. Komugi replies that she remembers running and howling really loud and before she knew it, she transformed. Iroha is still confused until they notice the sheep Wonderful rescued waking up. He walks up to the two of them and thanks them for rescuing him. Iroha is shocked to learn he could stand up and talk until Komugi reminds her she could do the same thing too. Komugi is happy that her wish to talk to Iroha has come true, and Iroha is glad also, all the while the sheep tries to get their attention.

The sheep then introduces himself as Mey Mey, a butler who comes from a place called the Niko Garden. He explains that the Niko Garden is a beautiful paradise where many different kinds of animals live in peace, but one day, a mysterious darkness came down upon it and the animals' hearts were blackened while they suddenly got an urge to destroy everything. Komugi realizes that Mey Mey is referring to the Garugaru, a name she gave the monster because of the sound it made. Mey Mey thanks Komugi for saving him before pointing at her Wonderful Pact. She takes the pact out and opens it and Iroha wonders if that allowed Komugi to transform.

Mey Mey explains that there are most likely other animals who have turned into Garugarus, and it's up to the Pretty Cures to save them, but Komugi won't do it without Iroha. Mey Mey is angered that Komugi would rather play instead of doing her duties. Iroha suggests talking to her parents and Satoru about it, but Mey Mey frantically tells them everything has to be kept secret. Suddenly, Mey Mey faints because of the damage he endured as a Garugaru and takes out his Kiraniko Trunk to return to the Niko Garden and rest. He leaves the trunk behind and Iroha tries to contact him again, but nothing happens. Komugi has now gotten hungry, so the two head home.

Iroha wonders how she'll tell her parents that Komugi became a human when Komugi rings the doorbell. Iroha panics as Tsuyoshi answers the door. He asks Iroha if Komugi is tired, and she notices that Komugi already turned back into a dog, but the pendant on her collar has changed. Tsuyoshi wonders what happened, but Iroha insists that it's nothing. That night, Iroha watches over Komugi while she rests and wonders if they could rescue the Garugarus that Mey Mey mentioned, but she doesn't want to put Komugi in danger. Iroha also remembers when she first met Komugi when she was an injured stray dog and how she wished she could hear Komugi's voice. Meanwhile, another Garugaru egg sits in an alley.

The next morning, Komugi wakes Iroha up again for their walk, but Iroha is surprised to learn that Komugi could also speak as a dog too. While Komugi is celebrating, Youko calls out to Iroha and checks on her. Komugi attempts to talk, but Iroha tries to cover her mouth. Youko thinks she heard something go "wan", but Iroha acts like nothing happened. After Youko leaves, Iroha tells Komugi not to talk as a dog anymore, and Komugi agrees.

Meanwhile, Mayu is admiring the accessories displayed at the animal salon at Iroha's house and picks up one she thinks would look nice on Yuki. Tsuyoshi asks Mayu about her pet and she starts gushing about Yuki and how the ribbons make Mayu want to play dress-up with her. Then, Satoru and Daifuku arrive and ask if they could use the dog run and Tsuyoshi tells them to go ahead. Iroha and Komugi soon join them and Mayu also leaves before Tsuyoshi could continue to talk to her. As the others arrive at the dog run, Mayu watches from afar and is surprised to learn that Iroha lives here.

At the dog run, Iroha attempts to chase Komugi and Daifuku around, but she quickly becomes tired and sits next to Satoru. He tells her that rabbits and dogs are faster than humans, making it harder for them to keep up, but Iroha feels she would be closer to Komugi if they could run together. After Komugi and Daifuku go back to Iroha, Satoru mentions how he wants to learn about animals around the world, especially ones that haven't been discovered yet. While he talks, Iroha remembers everything about Mey Mey and the Garugarus and considers asking Satoru about helping them out, but she also remembers she couldn't reveal anything.

It is then that Satoru mentions the monster attack and Iroha starts to lose it. She lies about not knowing about the attack and Satoru becomes suspicious. Iroha then claims there wasn't a Garugaru attack, not knowing she said the monster's name, and she spirals even more. Satoru then abandons the topic and tells Iroha he is always there to listen to her if she needs anything, but Iroha still can't reveal anything even if she really wants to. Just then, the Garugaru egg in town hatches and the animals, including Komugi and Daifuku, become alert again. Komugi unknowingly announces the Garugaru's presence in front of Satoru, but Iroha tries to hide it as she and Komugi leave.

Komugi turns into her human form and she and Iroha arrive to see an ostrich Garugaru causing everyone to run away. Iroha wonders what to do and Komugi says she'll try to rescue it, reminding Iroha of when she rescued her and provided relief from the sadness, pain, and fear she felt before. Iroha wouldn't feel wonderful if the Garugaru were to be left alone, so Komugi transforms into Cure Wonderful to rescue it. As Wonderful goes after the Garugaru, Iroha is still worried.

As the Garugaru scares everyone and starts on its rampage, Wonderful arrives to calm it down, but it won't listen and attacks her by thrusting its neck at her. Wonderful tries to dodge its attacks while Iroha starts running towards them out of worry. The Garugaru proves to be faster than Wonderful thought and it even manages to knock her over, but she regains her bearings and continues going after it. As the battle continues, Iroha chases after them and remembers everything they have done together and how happy they had been. Iroha's strong urge to fight alongside Komugi causes another stone to break off the Mirror Stone and appear before Iroha, turning into a Wonderful Pact, which she takes and uses it to transform into Cure Friendy.

Wonderful is excited to see Friendy, but she tells her to stop and asks her to help purify the Garugaru, and Wonderful agrees. The Garugaru tries to escape but Wonderful chases after it again. Friendy starts following them and is shocked to learn that she can run faster now and easily catches up with Wonderful. Wonderful manages to jump on top of the Garugaru while Friendy tries to talk it out of being one. The Garugaru manages to throw Wonderful off, but she lands safely. Then, the same dark aura surrounds the Garugaru as it starts to feel more pain and runs into a building. Friendy tries to tell it to stop when it attacks her again, but she manages to grab one of its wings while Wonderful holds on to the other. Friendy tells the Garugaru that she wants to be friends with it and the power of her and Wonderful's hugs turn the Garugaru back to normal.

Iroha identifies the animal as an ostrich, but it collapses in pain. Iroha remembers Mey Mey and contacts him by shaking the Kiraniko Trunk. Once he emerges, he discovers a Wonderful Pact pouch on Iroha's hip and is shocked to learn she's a Cure now too. Mey Mey is overjoyed that the Cures want to take their duties of rescuing the corrupted animals seriously until he remembers the weakened ostrich. He suggests going to Niko Garden so it can rest. Opening the Kiraniko Trunk, he asks the Cures to enter and they agree. They jump into the portal inside the truck, with Mey Mey and the ostrich following them.
