
Inagami Akira (稲上晃 )? is an animator and character designer affiliated with Toei Animation.
History
He joined Toei Animation in 1986 as a two-term trainee after graduating from the Osaka University of the Arts, around the same time his colleagues Tamegai Katsumi and Sasaki Noriyo also joined the studio[1].
Work on Futari wa Pretty Cure
When coming up the designs for Cure Black and Cure White, a request was brought up to have them dress in a Gothic Lolita style, but ended up rejected as it was thought children wouldn't be interested. After a series of meetings, Inagami finalized the designs with frills and short skirts to create a cool-yet-cute figure in action.[2]
