Blue River is a song that originated from the console release of pop'n music 11, and is one of the songs that can be unlocked in the Africa section of the Pop'n Tourist (ポップンツーリスト?) unlock system. This song is then part of the default songlist in pop'n music 12 いろは CS, as well as in the defunct mobile game, 코나미 팝픈뮤직2 카니발.
Blue River is transplanted to pop'n music éclale on December 10, 2015, as a Star Factory item that could be purchased for 950 lumina. In that game, it received a brand new EX chart exclusive to arcade titles. Blue River also gained Highlight Zones for all of its difficulties, minus its EX chart. Since September 28, 2017, the song is available to play on the get-go.
In pop'n music peace, Blue River gained brand new UPPER charts in the Pop'n Time Trip -prologue- (ポップンタイムトリップ プロローグ?) event. They could be unlocked from December 20, 2018 to February 19, 2020, by filling out five stamps in the second pop'n music CS card. As of August 13, 2020, the UPPER variant of Blue River is playable by default.

- Retroactively, Blue River is the first song in pop'n music to have an EX chart rated Level 50.
- At 134 BPM, it also has the lowest consistent BPM of any Level 50 song in pop'n music (and of any Level 43 song on the old 1-43 scale).
- On CS pop'n music titles, Blue River's artist was capitalized as T-Bone.
- Besides adding Highlight Zones, Blue River's EASY chart is exactly the same as its old 5-Buttons chart.
- Despite that new songs from pop'n music ラピストリア onwards don't have genres or backgrounds, Blue River kept both from its CS debut.
- The song's Standard EASY and NORMAL charts and Battle NORMAL chart are tied by their notecounts.
