STAR TREK is a song composed by Alexander M. Courage, the former composer famous for making the opening theme for the original Star Trek TV series. The song itself is a cover for the opening theme of the Japanese quiz show, America Oudan Ultra Quiz (アメリカ横断ウルトラクイズ?), and it made an appearance as a playable beginner song in pop'n music 6.
STAR TREK was tied with Con te sabi 2119, Theme of staff roll～special mix～, Viva!2000, ミュージカル"５丁目物語"よりオーヴァチュア, and サザエさん一家 for last place at the poll named Let's make pop'n music 7 Together!, which was held on KONAMI's website as to what songs should get a remix in pop'n music 7.
It received brand new URA charts in pop'n music 11, which could be unlocked by having the last three digits from your mileage end with 111, or in random.
Upon the release of pop'n music 16 PARTY♪, the cover version was removed from arcade titles.

Trivia
- STAR TREK, both the original and its URA charts, have never been on a CS pop'n music release.
- As it is absent from pop'n music 6 CS, it was replaced by Viva!2000 in the World Course (ワールドコース?).
- As its advertisement as an American-based song indicates (including Mimi dressed up as American symbol Uncle Sam), STAR TREK is the only license in pop'n music 6 that is not based on a Japanese animated/live-action show.
- STAR TREK is the only license that had URA charts in pop'n music 11.
- The URA HYPER chart would later be transferred to the original version of STAR TREK as its EX chart the following game.
- Strangely enough, STAR TREK's URA charts were in the pop'n music data until pop'n music 15 ADVENTURE.
- The original charts for STAR TREK is youhei's last known contribution to date in pop'n music.

I had fun shooting into the rhythm group. After listening to the song all of a sudden, it's comparatively awesome.
At the end stage, I couldn't do it (I am talking like this god damn it!). I yelled "I need help, Simon Man!", and according to our hero, "I can't do this!" I really, really have to thank youhei, who created the charts that I had a lot of trouble with.
So will it be just okay to talk about ○× to everybody. While we're on that topic, Naya~n's a Trekkie in connection to pop'n.
