Poochy is a recurring character from the Yoshi's Island Series who debuted in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. He is a dog-like creature who helps Yoshi to cross the roads of spikes and lava.
Poochy is a white dog-like creature with orange spots, his tail is a black line that at the end has a red circle, he is wearing a black collar with white circles.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Poochy appears in the extra level of the world 1 named "Poochy Ain't Stupid" who help one of the Yoshi to to cross the lava roads, latter he reappears in the level 1 of the world 2 named "Visit Koopa and Para-Koopa" who that helps Yoshi cross a road full of spikes.
Yoshi's Story
In this game, Poochy can use his sense of smell to sniff out hidden secrets for Yoshi to uncover. Poochy will alert Yoshi when he has found something by barking at the spot it is hidden.
