~ Cozette talks with Connie in a flashback in Mario & Luigi: Brothership |
Cozette is the main antagonist of Mario & Luigi: Brothership. She was a Wattanist who watched over the original Uni-Tree before its destruction. She is also Zokket's true identity.
Description
Personality
True to her role as a Wattanist, Cozette is a wise woman. She was the original mentor of Connie, teaching her the responsibilities of a Wattanist and helping her out of a jam several times. Because of this, Connie loves Cozette, hoping to be reunited with her someday.
Physical Appearance
Cozette is a tall, lanky Concordian woman who looks like Connie, but with a long-sleeved dress and a scarf around her neck. Her hat is identical to Connie's, resembling an A-type plug.
Biography
Prior to the events of the game, Cozette was the original Wattanist (term for caretaker of the Uni-Tree), teaching her pupil, Connie, the ways of the Wattanist. One day, she came across the egg of Reclusa and fell under his influence. She transformed into Zokket and recruited Zok Troopers to destroy the Uni-Tree. As a result of the tree's destruction, Concordia's lands split apart and Connie used a seed to pland a brand new Uni-Tree on Shipshape Island. As a result, Mario and his brother Luigi were brought to Concordia by the Great Conductor to stop Zokket.
After Mario and Luigi reconnected the Islands, they stormed Zokket's fortress and defeated him in Battle. However, Reclusa's egg hatched and Zokket falls to the floor and transformed back in Cozette. Cozette is rescued, and Mario and Luigi take her back to Shipshape Island, where she reunites with her pupil.
Reclusa immediate wreaks havoc and creates the Soli-Tree, a tree that it uses as its fortress. Cozette reveals that Reclusa's fortress can be invaded with Bond power, as she and Connie create some and planted it within Connie's Bonding Can. While Mario and Luigi travel around the islands to collect more Bond Energy, Cozette leaves Shipshape Island to return to the Gulchrock Sea Great Lighthouse, where she found the egg of Reclusa. She tells the brothers that she intends to go after Reclusa to make amends for what she has done, and tells them that Connie will have to take her place as the Wattanist for the Uni-Tree. After Mario and Luigi collected enough Bond energy from various characters across concordia, they storm the fortress as Cozette charges ahead to get revenge on Reclusa. She fails, and the Bros. are forced to go in her stead with her injuries being treated by Connie. As the brothers Approach Reclusa, she sends Connie to provide aid for the Bros., which proves essential when Reclusa knocks the brothers. out with a wave of Glohm. After Reclusa is finally defeated, he and the Soli-tree disintegrate into bond energy, and Mario, Luigi, Connie, and Cozette escape the collapsing fortress.
During the credits, Cozette can be seen taking some concordian children to Twistee Island on a field trip, presumably to teach them how to be wattanists.
