Egg Flyer

The Egg Flyer (エッグフライヤー, Eggufuraiyā^?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, combat drone-like Badnik created by Dr. Eggman.

Game appearances

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)

In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), the Egg Flyers appear as enemies throughout numerous stages in the game, where they can be often found in areas that cannot be crossed easily without falling, such as bottomless pits or steep falls. The Egg Flyers two main sources of weaponry are bullets and missiles that they fire at the player when approaching them, which can be made harder to avoid due to the Egg Flyers often appearing in groups.

Despite this, the Egg Flyers can be easily defeated by a Homing Attack, and can sometimes be used by the player to cross over bottomless pits by defeating several of them in succession, allowing for progression through otherwise inaccessible areas.

Shadow Generations

Egg Flyers reappear in Shadow Generations, reprising their roles as enemies and appear in Kingdom Valley.

Variants

Main article: Egg Buster

The Egg Buster is an advanced version of the Egg Flyer that is more aggressive. They only appear in Sonic 06.

Trivia

• The Egg Flyers greatly resemble the Hawk Series robots that were created by G.U.N. in Sonic Adventure 2, despite not being affiliated with them.
