Herman

Herman is a resident of Soleanna in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). He is a soldier from the Guardian Units of Nations who is regularly assigned tedious errands by his commander. His current assignment is to test people on their strength and stamina to see if they are fit to be G.U.N. agents, a duty which he finds particularly monotonous. The test requires the participant to run and jump through several orange rings around Soleanna Castle Town in one minute and thirty seconds.

History

In Shadow's story, Herman gives Shadow his eleventh Town Mission. He instantly recognizes him as an old acquaintance, and it has been quite a long time since their last meeting. He decides to give Shadow a strength test, in which he must go through every ring in Soleanna Castle Town within the time limit, "for old time's sake". As he has apparently tried it before, he is expected to do well. When Shadow accomplishes the test, Herman states that he has surpassed his own agent record from years before.
