Dark Paratroopa is a Koopa Paratroopa variant and an enemy in the Paper Mario series.
History
Paper Mario
Dark Paratroopas were to be enemies in Paper Mario, but were scrapped for reasons unknown.
According to Goombario's tattle, these enemies reside in the Toad Town Tunnels along with their wings being lost when jumped on, much like regular Paratroopas. They were to be also immune to hammer attacks and fly away when about to be attacked. They were referred to D. Paratroopas in this game.
Goombario's tattle
"This is a D. Paratroopa. D. Paratroopas are Paratroopas who live in the Toad Town Tunnels. Hammer attacks won't work because they're airborne. They'll lose their wings if you jump on 'em. They'll become Dark Koopas when they fall, but be careful! They'll do a dizzy attack once they're grounded."
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
This enemy is essentially, a flying Dark Koopa. In being so, it too is found in the Pit of 100 Trials. The Dark Paratroopa is found in the area between floor 40 and 50.
