Shell Shield

Shell Shield is a special move used by Koops in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

Description

Shell Shield can be used once Koops has been upgraded to the Super Rank, and the move requires 4 FP to use.

To use Shell Shield, the player must press at the right moment to have Koops drop a protective shell onto Mario. If done successfully, an intact shell will protect Mario from three attacks without taking any damage at all. However, if the A button is pressed at any other moment, it cracks and lasts a shorter time. Shell Shield can be a very useful defensive technique in battle as Mario can still attack with the shell still on him.

Trivia

• Shell Shield works similarly to Sushie's Water Block from Paper Mario.
