Chanterelle is a female Toad with purple spots on her head. She also wears a purple dress and wears a pink flower in her hair.
Etymology
Chanterelle's name is shared with cantharellus, a species of edible mushroom from the real world. Given that Chanterelle is a singer, her name also derives from "chanteuse," a word referring to female singer at nightclubs.
In Paper Mario
Chanterelle is a famous Toad and she is known for her singing. Chanterelle can be seen at Club 64 where she is hoping to sing some different lyrics. If Mario brings her the lyrics from Toad in the Desert living in Dry Dry Outpost, Chanterelle sings a song for Mario and awards him with the Attack FX D badge. Chanterelle is also seen during the parade in the end credits and is seen singing during the nighttime part of the parade.
