Monstar is a boss in Paper Mario.
In Paper Mario
As Mario and his company are walking through Shiver Snowfield, they run into Monstar. The Monstar warns Mario not to fight it and tells him to turn back. If Mario decides to turn back, Monstar will tell Mario that it was a smart choice. However, if Mario decides to not run, Monstar will engage him in battle. Once the fight concludes, it turns out that Monstar is actually a large sum of Star Kids. The children fly off to Starborn Valley and Mario enters the village.
Battle
Monstar is a ghost that is unaffected by all types of star attacks, so Shooting Star and Scholar won't do much in this fight. He attacks with his own form of Shooting Star, but it only deals out 1 point of damage, rather than the 6 Shooting Star does.
Strategy
There is no real strategy to this fight due to how weak Monstar is. If Mario has the Defend Plus badge equipped, he cannot take any damage at all in this fight. It's simple to attack Monstar with attacks until it is defeated. It is most likely the fight with Monstar is so easy since Mario just came from a tough fight earlier with Jr. Troopa.
