Gooma is a character who appears in Paper Mario.

Profile

Gooma is an elderly Goomba woman who is the mate of Goompa, the mother of Goomama, the mother-in-law of Goompapa and the maternal grandmother of Goombario and Goombaria.

Etymology

In a similar manner to how Goombario's name is a portmanteau of "Goomba" and "Mario," Gooma's name would appear to be a combination of "Goomba" and "ma," another word for "grandmother."

History

She is the grandmother of the Goomba Family. She is located in the house in Goomba Village and informs Mario on where to find Goompa, her husband. Her grandson, Goombario, states that she loves to tell him stories about her youth saying she was particularly popular with the boys.
