Izawa (いざわ) is a supporting character featured in River City Renegade. He is a first year student at Ebisu High School and is a member of the Osaka Alliance. Izawa has feelings for Miho Yanagisawa, though chooses to keep this as a secret.
Background
Izawa is first seen at the Osaka Alliance meeting in Shinsaibashi and introduces himself to Kunio. He alongside the others tell Kunio that they need his help in order to take on the Osaka Union. When asked about a plan, Izawa states that they're planning on coordinating a synchronous attack across various locations as a way to weaken the Union and take them down. Discussing the location, Izawa mentions the rumors he heard of there being a connecting sewer between Shinsaibashi and Namba that's currently occupied by the Union. With Saori unsure of where the entrance would be, Izawa suggests that it's likely to be well defended. He then suggests that one group should head through Namba so they're able to attack from both sides. Yoshihiro offers to go to Namba alone, though because of Ōmi's worries, Izawa offers to go with Yoshihiro himself. When Saori suggests that Kunio leave with Miho to the entrance in Umeda, Izawa tells them that the entrance is located in the area's subway. Ōmi mentions that the two will need a key in order to get in, but Yoshihiro hands a key to the sewers he supposedly found to the surprise of Izawa. He then asks the group if they should meet back up at the same spot after their attack is complete, to which the group agrees.
Upon defeating Hokuto and rescuing Urabe from the sewers, Kunio meets back up with the Alliance on the bridge but is interrupted by Ōmi and Saori who come running in to inform the group that their strategy has been leaked and suggests that both Izawa and Yoshihiro are being held captive. Later after Kunio rescues Izawa and the other Alliance members from Namba's sewers, they all return to Shinsaibashi. When Kunio arrives, he informs them that Yoshihiro has not been seen and that Miho was kidnapped by Urabe. Kunio explains that he doesn't have any idea on where Miho was taken, to which Izawa gets upset and starts to punch Kunio in frustration. Kunio gets ready to leave for Ebisuchō to meet Masaki Yanagisawa and Izawa decides to apologize for punching him.
Izawa later appears alongside Saori and Ōmi to assist Kunio in his fight against some Union members in the Tsūtenkaku Tower. Upon clearing the enemies, Izawa hands Kunio an item before he leaves to guard the entrance with the others. He is later seen knocked out on the ground outside of the tower with the others after being attacked by Yoshihiro. During the ending of the game, Izawa is seen with Saori, Ōmi, and Masaki at the Osaka Port and makes a comment about things finally returning to normal in Osaka.
