Yūya (ゆうや) is a second year student at Nekketsu High School that was first featured in Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Special as a minor antagonist. He frequently hangs out in a group of four alongside Toshio in which they steal money from those that look weaker than them. Yūya wants to put an end to his ways, though finds it difficult to bring this up with the others. He is the younger brother of Tetsu.

Yūya debuts in Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Special as a minor antagonist.
In the story mode, Yūya is first seen with Toshio at Nekketsu High School as they extort Hiroshi for cash. Kunio walks into the scene and fights the two for bullying other students. Shortly after, Yūya arrives outside of Kunio's classroom with some Hanazono High School students looking to get revenge though is unable to find him. Yūya has the Hanazono students attack Hiroshi to get him to give away Kunio's whereabouts, though Kunio comes back from the bathroom immediately after and realizes what's going on. In the middle of the fight, Madoka steps out into the hall and breaks up the fight. Yūya is later seen with Toshio on the school's rooftop frustrated at how strong Kunio is. Toshio informs Yūya that he's called in Wataru Sasaki to take down Kunio. After Wataru is defeated for the first time, Yūya and Toshio discuss on the rooftop about how Wataru's been acting out of his own interest and that Riki is not aware of his doings. The two then talk about Riki's legendary status believing that he'll come to confront Kunio after hearing about what's been happening. Following Riki's defeat to Kunio at the Shinjuku Station, Yūya mentions the fight to his friends in the Blue Emperors which in turn lead to Shinji being informed of Riki's defeat.

Yūya briefly appears alongside Toshio if the players attack Nozomi at Ikebukuro's shops. The two will attempt to protect her from Kunio in hopes of being able to go out on a date with her.
River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~
Yūya appears as a character unlocked from winning a game as Kagemura High School in free battle. Yūya is able to use the Double Chop.
