Merv is a character featured in River City Ransom: Underground. He is the head of Merv Enterprises and is the father of Adam.
Background
Merv is first seen live on television as he sends out a speech to all the gangs of River City to accuse The Flock of stealing his dog Angel. He places a bounty on the capture of The Flock and claims that their leader Chris was caught on camera sneaking away from his security forces. Following the announcement, the protagonists seek to clear their names while the gangs of River City are continuously attempting to fight them in order to claim Merv's reward. Alex and Ryan later deduct that Slick is the one behind everything after hearing the news and decides to team up with the protagonists to find him.
Following the defeat of Slick, Alex and Ryan are confused as to why they're still wanted by Merv, to which the protagonists suggest that they directly confront Merv himself to prove their innocence. With Alex and Ryan agreeing to the plan, Ryan suggests to the group that they go and visit Cyndi as she's knowledgeable about the gang activity in the area and is closer to Merv's location. When the protagonists are informed that the Mercs are searching for them, they defeat and collect the dog tags of each member and take them to their leader, where he ignores the comments and decides to fight them. Upon his defeat, he claims that they'll never be able to get through the entrance of Merv Tower, though points the protagonists towards Adam as somebody who may be able to be convinced into helping them. After confronting and defeating Adam on the rooftop of his nightclub, he will inform the protagonists that there is a lift behind Merv Tower that will take them all the way up.
Upon reaching Merv in his office, he recognizes the group as the ones who kidnapped his dog and states how we would've preferred them to be brought to him unconscious. The protagonists attempt to plead their innocence until Chris barges into the room and returns Merv's dog stating that she rescued her. Merv appears grateful and decides to call Wes into the room as he believes he'd be excited to see the dog. When Wes unexpectedly kicks the protagonists out of the window, he appears shocked and decides to wait for them outside with Chris. Once the jet crashed outside of the tower's entrance, Merv scolds Wes explaining that the protagonists are not their enemy and were not the ones responsible for Angel's kidnapping. With The Flock knowing who was responsible, Merv dispatches Wes to accompany them in taking vengeance.
