The Frobots are major antagonists in the series Amphibia. They are robotic soldiers built to serve King Andrias as a part of his personal military force, known as the Frog Army to conquer other worlds with the Human planet Earth as their first target.
They were the products of the abandoned factories in Amphibia which resumes their creation for Andrias' purposes. Once they received the signal sent by Newtopia Castle, they flew very fast to the castle in midair to regroup. Over the weeks after Anne Boonchuy and the Plantar family escaped to Earth, the Frobots being the backbone of this military force grew exponentially as part of a massive fleet as Andrias prepared for his invasion. After the invasion was thwarted by Anne and her allies, most of but not all of frobots were destroyed.
Background
Frobots are mechanical war machines resembling frogs and some models are similar to Frobo, but are geared for combat; during and after the episode, and the intro for Season 3, there are advanced models of Andrias' Frobots that are created to deal with different types of certain situations. Some are like UAV drones, and some other types would be stronger variants of normal Frobot variants.
The Frobots were created during the times of Newtopia's good old days over a thousand years ago, as a sort of defensive or offensive force. Around the time when King Andrias lost the Calamity Box to his former friends, he lost his mechanical military. As a result, knowledge of the robots disappeared from memory, technologically stagnant and the factories were left to dereliction with decay.
Over 1,000 years later, one factory was accidentally reactivated by Sprig in the episode "Fort in the Road", where it resumes production. The factory's control panel malfunctions and collapses, though not before it manages to finish only one Frobot that would come to be known as Frobo.
In "True Colors", when Andrias regains the Calamity Box, the box linked to the castle sends a signal that reactivates all the factories to start creating an army of upgraded Frobots for Andrias to begin his world-spanning conquest. However, Frobo wasn't affected by the activation signal, leading Andrias to destroy him with his fist for his disobedience.
In "The New Normal", the Frobots are seen guarding the flying castle while a newly built silver model with the ability to cloak itself is sent to though a dimensional portal to terminate the main obstacle in Andrias' invasion of Earth: Anne Boonchuy. In "Turning Point", Andrias also sent an enormous bronze model that has smaller green models that it can deploy from its body to Wartwood to obliterate Sasha Waybright, Captain Grime, and the town's citizens, only to be destroyed.
In "Olivia & Yunan," many Frobots of varying sizes and shapes are shown rapidly extracting Newtopia of its resources, some are in the shape of construction vehicles such as bulldozers and cranes since the events of "True Colors" and "Turning Point". A Standard class Frobot is also seen speaking Lady Olivia, showing they are capable of speech like Frobo.
In "Froggy Little Christmas", a Frobot is seen making a snow Frobot. Later, King Andrias is informed by Bartley, Branson and Blair, that the army is nearly complete. After his failure to destroy Anne and the Plantars, Andrias ensures his master that he has built an entire army of Frobots and is preparing to use them to invade Earth.
In "Commander Anne", it is revealed that the Frobots have expanded operations into Wartwood, which includes collecting wildlife and enslaving them with mind-controlling collars to attack anyone who opposed Andrias. In "Sprivy", the Frobots have set up a facility that has a laser canon to prevent frogs, newts, and toads from getting into Wartwood that the Frobots protect, but every hour there's a five-minute window where the Frobots change shifts. This laser is eventually destroyed by the Wartwood Resistance. In "Fight or Flight", Frobots start capturing a Kill-a-moth pack led by Domino 2 to a power plant where they would generate power for Andrias's army.
In "The Beginning of the End", the Frobots appear to fight the resistance, during which many of them are destroyed. When Andrias activates the portal under Darcy's orders, they take flight, going through the portal along with the castle and the factories. In "All In", they arrive on Earth to fight the U.S. army and the resistance, during which many are destroyed; when the invasion has been stopped, most of the Frobots back on Amphibia have been destroyed. The Frobots make a final appearance in "The Hardest Thing", when Andrias summons the remaining Frobots to help the Calamity Trio push back the Core-controlled red moon. However, the Core destroys most if not all of them, before Anne uses the full power of the stones to destroy the Core. During the nine months after the battle, a watering can Frobot is seen helping Andrias replant the flora he and his master destroyed.
Known classes/models
Outdated Frobots

This type existed more than roughly 1000 years ago, though not much is known about them, it seems this class was a sort of defensive or offensive force for Amphibia, similar to their darker variant albeit outdated. As well as other types of duties. A specific one was made by accident through the use of "Hop Pop's Road Rules" book instead of a disk by Anne and the Plantars, currently it lives with the Plantars on their farm.
These Frobots don't show much of their abilities, but as seen with Frobo they possess a lot of arsenal (include laser vision), the ability to transform into a sphere and to stretch their arms freely.
- Frobo (has been destroyed by King Andrias but was later restored and upgraded by Polly)
- Ancient Frobots (fate unknown)
Standard Frobots
This type existed the same time as its outdated counterparts and were the main soldiers of the Leviathans' military force. They were all over Andrias' castle guarding it from any kind of attack or intruder. When the attack on Earth started, they were the weakest soldiers and most of them were destroyed by Anne and her allies to defend Earth. After returning to Amphibia, the remaining damaged ones were sent into space to aid the Calamity Trio in their battle against The Core, in the end though, it was in vain as all of them were destroyed by it.
These Frobots are shown to have many abilities such as shooting plasma from their cannon they possess in one of their arms and some even capable of having more cannons out of their back, they possess wings with thrusters on their backs and one specific one was able to send a signal back to Andrias' castle for back up.
- Andrias' invasion soldiers (all destroyed by the Resistance and later by The Core)
Bug Bots

This type of robots are frog-like steamrollers used to crush wildlife and even Amphibians' homes to gain more space and use it to create more machines. Many are seen rolling through Amphibia destroying forests and houses to destroy more and more of its environment.
These robots are only known to use their rolling to crush anything under it.
- The ones that worked through Amphibia (fate unknown)
Shield Generator Bot

This type of robot is a large energy generator used to power up an electrifying, energy shield around a laser cannon. As seen in its name, it's capabale of coming out of the ground and transforming into a giant crab-like robot to defend itself when left alone. One was created to protect a Laser Cannon through a electrifying shield around it but even though it went into battle mode, it was destroyed by Ivy and Fern so Sprig and Stumpy can destroy the cannon its shield protects.
This robot is only known to naturally generate energy to a shield to protect the Laser Cannon and it's large claws to protect itself from enemies.
- The one powering up the Laser Cannon's energy shield (destroyed)
Bulldozer Frobots

This type that is a variation of the Standard class, are very similar to them but with characteristics of a bulldozer, including a shovel, two tracks for legs and tubes on the back. One was only seen destroying Amphibia's enviroment around Newtopia.
This type's abilities are unknown.
- The one that worked in Newtopia (fate unknown)
Hooded Frobots

This type of hooded Frobot resembles more of a toad than a frog. They seem to be a combination between the standard and outdated classes. They're seen serving a higher ranking Frobot and making up a trap for the Merry Band to catch them once and for all, they're all destroyed by Anne, Sprig, and the Merry Band in the end.
These Frobots aren't known for any ability, but they wield a battle-axe for battles.
- Judge Frobot's servants (all destroyed by Sprig, Anne and the Merry Band)
Royal Guard Frobots

This type of Frobot that serves as Andrias' royal forces to defend his castle from bigger threats like the whole Resistance, they possess a lance and a shield in the place of each hand.
These Frobots aren't known for any ability but they wield a lance and create a shield during battles.
- King Andrias' Royal Guards (All destroyed by the Resistance)
Cloak-bots

These types of Frobots are the silent stealth assassin models used by Andrias, one was sent to kill Anne and the Plantars due to the girl being the biggest threat Andrias currently has and also to secure the second Cynthia Coven book for him. In its battles with Anne, it got severely damaged and sent drones to do the job, they also failed and due to taking too long to terminate the human, Andrias sets it to self destruct, even after trying desperately to kill Anne once and for all, it exploded after Anne kicked it into Earth's atmosphere. Later, when Sasha, Grime, Olivia, and Yunan invade Andrias's castle, a trio of them appear to stop them but are presumably taken out by Olivia and Yunan.
These Frobots are known for their main ability of turning invisible using active camouflage for as long as they wish, they are able of morphing one of their arms into a cannon similar to their standard counterparts, their arms with sharp claws are able to stretch far and even more than other types, Anne's hunter specifically was capable of detecting Anne's Calamity energy, and possess a group of Dragonfly-like Drones that follow its orders loyally.
- Cloak-Bot sent to kill Anne and the Plantars (self-destructed by Andrias)
- Cloak-Bots in Newtopia Castle (presumably destroyed by Olivia and Yunan)
Tank Frobots

This type of Frobot have giant rounded bodies and were used as the tank due to their size and resistence. A golden one was sent to kill Sasha and Grime, seen as threats for Andrias' plans, it tried using minions to defeat them but was destroyed by their own missiles in the end of the battle. A group of silver ones with spiked maces for hands appeared in Andrias' army against the Resistence and later in earth's invasion. A much smaller, golden one appeared in the castle to take the prisoners away.
These Frobots have a large strength compared to others, the golden ones possess Polywog-like missile launchers in their bodies such as in their hands and maws, the one that attacked Wartwood possessed smaller Frogglet-like Frobots inside them and were able of launching them out of their backs, the silver ones don't show much abilities but pop spiked maces out of both their hands.
- Giant Frobot sent to kill Sasha and Grime (destroyed by it's own 2 missiles)
- Silver Giant Frobots (destroyed by the resistance)
- Smaller golden Frobot (fate unknown)
Froglet Frobots

This type of Frobots are weak, smaller Froglet-like Frobots that were only seem kept inside a Tank Class Frobot to be released and aid them during battles. A group of them were used to fight Sasha, Grime and the Wartwood civilians but were all destroyed.
These Frobots aren't known for many abilities, they're only seen stretching their arms during battles for melee combat.
Fire Frobots

This type of Frobots are mostly similar to the standard class but red with flamethrowers on their right arm instead of plasma in their hands. A group known as Extermination Team was sent to Gardenton mistaking it for the Resistance's base, in the end all of them were destroyed by the Resistance and Gardenton's civilians.
These Frobots possess large flamethrowers on their hands connected to containers filled with flammable liquid on their backs, they also possess the ability to fly in someway.
- The Extermination Team sent to destroy Gardenton (all destroyed by the Resistance and Gardenton's inhabitants)
Drill Frobots

This type of Frobot is a giant frog-like drill used for mining iron ore underground to be used to create even more Frobots. One was used right above the underground city of Proteus to mine the resources around it, but caused huge earthquakes which would eventually cause the city's destruction. The Resistance tried to stop it somehow, but eventually Lysil and Angwin joined in to help out and eventually destroy the drill completely.
This Frobot is only used for drilling the ground and mining ores being controlled by afar different from most Frobots.
- The Drill Frobot used above Proteus (destroyed by Lysil and Angwin)

They possess two known modes, being the judge where it stays behind desk while doing the judge with a small hammer and the battle mode wich transforms its desk into a pair of legs and reveals two gigantic arms to fuse two hammers into a gigantic mallet. One was commanding to group of Hooded Frobots and tried executing "justice" on the Merry Band but was ultimaly destroyed by Jojo Potato.
These Frobots are able of shooting missiles out of their hair and possess a gigantic mallet used in battle.
- The Judge Frobot (destroyed by the Merry Band)
Butler Frobots

These types of Frobots are small Frobots similar to the standard class ones with a tuxedo-like design, they are Andrias' main servants to please him in anyway they can such as drinks while he watches the destruction. Trivia
- During season 3, new variants of the Frobots are being created to go and destroy both Sasha and the resistance in Amphibia and Anne with her friends on Earth.
- The Frobots are inspired by the Laputian Robots in Castle in the Sky.[citation needed]
- The stealth, giant, and "Turning Point" standard models are voiced by Troy Baker, who voiced Captain Grime as well.
- Although the Frobots are seemingly more advanced than the technology found on Earth, some models like the standard class don't seem to be durable at all, as Anne, Sasha and other characters (both Amphibians and Humans) can easily destroy them from a distance and in close combat with melee attacks and weapons (including fists). This is likely because they are recreated from factories that had been shutdown for more than 1000 years ago that the materials to make them might not be well-kept or just weak from sheer age. In addition, Frobo, despite being an older model, could hold off more than his newer standard class counterparts, nonetheless, he was physically destroyed by Andrias' fist when saving Polly's life.
- It is shown that Frobots can locate each other if another one is nearby, as Cloak-Bot was able to track down Frobo's location following the latter's reactivation.
- Frobots are often accompanied by animal-like robots known as drones. These include Cloak-Bot's minion drones, which are modeled after dragonflies. A moth-like drone was also created for Andrias as a gift for Christmas, by Bartley, Branson and Blair who planned to create more later on, even though the one seen in "Froggy Little Christmas" was a prototype. This one could also release tiny spider-like robots from its needle. Although they serve the Frobots, it is not stated whether the drones are considered Frobots or are a related type.
