Teddy is a minor antagonistic character in Amphibia. He and his wife were cannibals who owned the Dandy Lion Inn before it was destroyed.
Appearance
He is a dark brown toad with light yellow stripes on his face and back. He has two short "horns" and a lighter underbelly. Teddy wears blue, ragged overalls with a large pocket over a striped, brown shirt with folded sleeves. He appears bald, with bushy grey eyebrows and yellow eyes.
Background
In "A Night at the Inn", Teddy and Martha first appear greeting Anne and the Plantar family when they arrive at their inn after their snail, Bessie, gets into an accident. They offer Anne and the Plantars to stay at their inn for the night, kindly giving four rooms for the price of one along with some homemade cookies.
Later, Teddy is seen talking to two old lady horned bullfrogs after they kidnapped Anne, Sprig, and Hop Pop as they intend to eat them for dinner. Martha arrives and informs the other bullfrogs of Polly's escape, realizing Polly did not eat any of the cookies they gave to the Plantars which were actually slumberdoodles, cookies filled with sleeping drugs to knock them out.
Just as the bullfrogs prepare to cook Anne, Hop Pop, and Sprig alive, Polly suddenly arrives and attacks the bullfrogs and awakens her kidnapped family. Teddy, Martha, and the sisters corner Polly and taunt her for thinking she could save her family, saying she's just a young tadpole. However, Polly causes a pot of marinade to spill all over the floor, causing the bullfrogs to slip. This allows Polly and her family to escape to the stable where Bessie is and discover that Bessie's accident was a trap placed by the bullfrogs and find more snails from other frogs that the bullfrogs had eaten in past. Just as Anne and the Plantars escape, Teddy and his family recover from their fall where Teddy notices Anne had purposely caused some baking soda and vinegar to mix together. This causes the inn to explode.
