Notes

Incarnon Genesis

Evolution

  • Installing the Burston Incarnon Genesis requires 20  Pathos Clamps, 60  Rune Marrow, and 20  Maw Fang.
  • When installed, the first Evolution tier is unlocked. The following Evolution tiers, their requirements for unlocking them, and their related perks, are shown below;

Evolution I

  • Weakpoint hits charge Incarnon Transmutation; Alt Fire transmutes. Switching back will expend any remaining charge.
  • Gain an Auto Fire mode and deal Radial  Heat Damage.
  • Mode switching is not instantaneous and has an animation equal to the weapon's reload speed.
  • Incarnon Form is activated by filling the Incarnon Transmutation gauge that appears under the reticule by achieving weakpoint hits and then pressing the Alternate Fire button. 20 weakpoints will completely fill the gauge. A full gauge is not required to activate Incarnon Form.
    • Charges do not generate on the backpacks of most MOA variants, or vulnerability spots generated by  Sonar or  Detect Vulnerability in places other than actual weakpoints.
    • Weakpoints on corpses or Invulnerable targets do not build charges.
    • Individual Multishot bullets can build charges.
  • Instead of drawing ammunition from its reserves, the Burston's Incarnon Form uses a separate "magazine" with each charge producing 30 rounds to a maximum of 600. Once all ammunition is expended, the Burston reverts to its normal form.
    • Incarnon Form's magazine is not affected by mods.
    • Incarnon Form is not affected by Ammo Efficiency (such as  Energized Munitions).
    • Charges and Incarnon Form persists through all activities, such as holstering, bleedout, or being disarmed. However, charges and Incarnon Form are removed upon death.
  • Swapping to and from Incarnon Form will fully reload the normal form's magazine.

Evolution II

  • Unlock Challenge: Complete a solo mission with this weapon equipped.
  • Perk 1: Forceful Finality:
    • Increase Damage by +42.
    • +5 Multishot on final magazine burst.
      • Multishot bonus is added before mods, and is thus multiplied by multishot bonuses.
      • Multishot bonus does not affect the Incarnon form.
  • Perk 2: Fortress Salvo:
    • Increase Damage by +42.
    • With Armor Over 450: +2 Punch Through.

Evolution III

  • Unlock Challenge: Kill 100 enemies with this weapon's Incarnon Form.
  • Perk 1: Extended Volley:
    • Increase Magazine Capacity by +21.
  • Perk 2: Ready Retaliation:
    • On Reload From Empty: +100% Reload Speed.
  • Perk 3: Kinetic Battle:
    • -50% Weapon Recoil.

Evolution IV

  • Unlock Challenge: Get 40 headshots in Incarnon form in a single mission.
  • Perk 1: Reaver's Rapture:
    • On Full Burst Hit: +20% Damage, resets on Reload.
      • Caps at 5x for +100% damage, additive with base damage mods such as  Serration.
      • Burst condition is not affected by multishot or punch through, but counts object hits such as nullifier bubbles, and activates even if the first hit of a burst kills the target.
      • Resets when activating incarnon, and cannot be stacked in Incarnon form.
  • Perk 2: Absolute Valor:
    • Increase Critical Chance by +22%.
  • Perk 3: Fatal Affliction:
    • +40% Direct Damage per Status Type affecting the target.

Tips

  • Be patient and find a rhythm with shooting to fire at a faster rate.
  • There are various means to counteract the Burston's climbing recoil;
    • Move the mouse down during each burst. Doing this can allow all three rounds of a burst to be headshots at medium range and can also be used to keep all bullets on target for long-distance shots.
    • At long distances, aiming the first shot at the torso of enemies will help to guarantee at least one headshot in a burst.
    •  Stabilizer can almost negate the recoil generated, making it easier to keep the bullets on target.
  • Use  Rifle Ammo Mutation to regain extra ammo if needed.
  • If you can't perform well with this weapon at long ranges, consider equipping the  Heavy Caliber mod, as the Burston can do just as well at close range to mid-range combat.

Trivia

  • The Burston design was a source of much speculation as it did not directly fit the design aesthetic of the main factions. It was speculated that the Burston was an obsolete Grineer weapon; it was fielded by Grineer Elite Lancers prior to the release of the Hind in Update 9.6 (2013-08-16) and it also appeared in Grineer faction art. However, its redesign teased in Devstream 53 and subsequent release in Update: Specters of the Rail 0.0 (2016-07-08) shows it to be of Tenno origin.
  • The Burston also appeared in the original Dark Sector video, where it was used by the Grineer. However, the connection between this video concept and Warframe is still unclear.
    • Strangely enough, the Burston used in the video fires in an automatic manner.
