Gaze

Gaze is a Kitgun chamber component. It fires a pinpoint-accurate continuous beam.

When used as a primary, the beam projects a 3 meter radial field at the point of impact, dealing pure  Radiation damage.

When used as a secondary, the beam has 1 meter of innate punch through, can chain to an enemy within 5m (center-to-center, so actual range may seem shorter) of target and can chain to one additional enemy near the chained enemy for a total of 2 chained enemies, dealing  Radiation and  Puncture damage.

Acquisition

The blueprint for the chamber can be bought from Rude Zuud for 500 Standing 500 at Rank 0 with Solaris United.

Primary

• Uses Rifle mods.
• The zone of impact or maximum beam range creates a spherical area of effect of 3 meters, dealing the weapon's full damage.
  • Punch through affects the location of the weapon's area of effect. The weapon's area of effect is applied at the final point of contact rather than whenever an enemy is struck.
  • The area of effect radius can be increased with  Firestorm ( Primed).
  • The radial damage is not affected by multishot.
• Similarly to the Vermisplicer, the Grip chosen with the Gaze affects the range of the beam, and not the fire rate. Grips with higher damage output will reduce the range of the beam, while grips with lower damage will increase it.
  • When paired with the Tremor grip, the range of the beam is 16 m.
  • When paired with the Steadyslam grip, the range of the beam is 20 m.
  • When paired with the Shrewd grip, the range of the beam is 26 m.
  • When paired with the Palmaris grip, the range of the beam is 28 m.
  • When paired with the Brash grip, the range of the beam is 30 m.
• The range of the main beam can be increased with  Sinister Reach.

Secondary

• The beam will chain to the closest living enemy with 5m on contact with an enemy. From there it will chain again, up to a maximum of 2 chains in total. A chain will do 0.2ⁿ times the main beams damage, where n is the chain number.
• Similarly to the Vermisplicer, the Grip chosen with the Gaze affects the range of the beam, and not the fire rate. Grips with higher damage output will reduce the range of the beam, while grips with lower damage will increase it.
  • When paired with the Haymaker grip, the range of the beam is 22 m.
  • When paired with the Lovetap grip, the range of the beam is 25 m.
  • When paired with the Ulnaris grip, the range of the beam is 30 m.
  • When paired with the Ramble grip, the range of the beam is 38 m.
  • When paired with the Gibber grip, the range of the beam is 41 m.
• The range of the main beam can be increased with  Ruinous Extension.
  • However, it has no effect on the chain beam.

Tips

• When continuously striking a surface or an enemy, the beam generates an excessive amount of particle effects, making it very difficult to discern where the beam is hitting, counterintuitive to the weapon's pinpoint accuracy.
  • To increase visibility, it is is advised to go into the game's options, and set the "GPU Particles" display setting to Medium, Low, or Disabled.
  • Changing the energy color of the weapon to a dark color, or black can also help.
•  Heavy Caliber/ Magnum Force's accuracy penalty are minimal on this weapon.
