Jeremy is a nice guy and a great skilled swordsman. His dad taught him, how to use the sword. His whole family are swordsmen and the strongest of his family member is his mother.

Suikoden IV
Before the Island Liberation War, he and Mitsuba had dueled and Jeremy got defeated. He keep himself in training, hoping to have a rematch with Mitsuba again.
During the Island Liberation War, he met Lazlo, the leader of Island Liberation Navy and Jeremy joined Lazlo's battle with the Kooluk Empire. Jeremy wanted to make use of his swordmanship, more and more to help Lazlo to fight the Kooluk. After the war, he joined Obel's army and eventually became an instructor of swordsmanship.
Suikoden Tactics
At the Fall of Kooluk, Jeremy was later sent by King Lino En Kuldes, to help Kyril on his investigation in the Kooluk Empire and to destroy the Rune Cannon. While he was with Kyril's group, Mitsuba was trying to do his trick again to Jeremy but Jeremy told her that he won't lose to her anymore, because he won't fight with Mitsuba anymore. He also scolded Mitsuba and Reinhold, telling them to stop conning people but ended up being invited by Mitsuba, but Jeremy refused the offer. He also became very close with Mitsuba, Reinhold, Millay and Trishtan. He had a doubt about Trishtan ability, because of Trishtan's health problem. After the fighting had ended, he returned to Obel, to train together with Millay and continue to teach swordmanship.
Jeremy is a balance character best suited for melee. With high HP and the ability to equip shield, he can be quite sturdy, however one should watch out for mages for his magical defense is very low. Due to his slow magic growth, he won't open a second rune slot until well into the the 50's level range, giving him very little in the way of customization.
Jeremy is especially useful if using the Reverse Adonis Attack, which is one of the strongest group attack, making it great to clear normal encounters. The downside of this party however is the lack of any good magical output, be it in the form of damage or support, unless the player character has been geared that way.

Keen: Would you secretly inform me about anyone on board this ship who you think is causing problems?
Jeremy: ...! Why that sounds like Mitsuba! Just... too impertinent!
Keen: Then, would you tell me what you think of Lazlo?
Jeremy: Lazlo? Oh, he's a nice guy... I think.
Keen: Finally, quietly confess the things you wish to atone for, or all the things that you are thankful for.
Jeremy: Hmm... I never thought much about complicated stuff until I came on board this ship... Like about the Kooluk and the Island Nations. But now, it's different... So, I want them to make use of my swordmanship, more and more!
Jeremy is one-handed sword user with a Lightning Affinity, the second one the player gains behind Andarc. He is statistically well rounded with no discernable strengths and weaknesses. He does have the ability to ride both Kangacorns and Giant Owls, giving him some more diversibility. Jeremy's biggest assets is that he has a lot of Good Will with other characters and can participate in two different Cooperation Attacks, as well as being able to participate in the Mount's special Cooperation Attacks.
Jeremy's usefulness largely comes down to his build set-up as well as who is fighting with him.
