During the Island Liberation War, he joined Lazlo when his army reach high amount of people. He stayed with Tov on the Shipwright Room and opened its own shop. When Lazlo bring materials to him, he make a clothes that are not sold in stores. When she asked Lilin for her scales, Lilin got angry and she refused to talk to him anymore. He feels bad when she learned that Lilin and her sisters were treated horribly by humans. After the war, he became the best tailor in the world.
Keen: You have done well by coming here. In this room, you may confess what is in your heart and accept proper judgement.
Phil: I-I understand.
Keen: Would you secretly inform me about anyone on board this ship who you think is causing problems?
Phil: Mr. Tov, maybe? I work in the same room as him, but... He never responds to me, even when I try talking to him. On top of that, he sometimes comes back with a reponse to it the day after or so... When I think of how he might have spent all that time thinking of a response... It sort of gets to me a little, too.
Keen: Then, would you tell me what you think of Lazlo?
Phil: Hmm... I guess I'd like him to make more clothes. However, I do know how much hard work it takes to just gather the materials, let alone put them together...
Keen: Finally, quietly confess the things you wish to atone for, or all the things that you are thankful for.
Phil: Once before, when I asked for a scale from Lilin, she got really mad at me... Since then, she's refused to speak to me. Later, I heard that Lilin and the others had been treated horribly by humans... I feel bad for what she went through. I wish I could... talk to her and reconcile our differences.
