Issue 239 is the two hundred and thirty-ninth edition of Sonic the Comic and the 18th overall edition of Sonic the Comic Online. Released on the 20th of May 2006, the issue contains three new, original stories and several features.

Sonic the Hedgehog
The Inside Story is a complete story written by Ed Reynolds, drawn by Stiv and lettered by Mike Corker. The Kane Broadcasting Company are running a documentary designed to ruin Sonic the Hedgehog's reputation in the public eye. After quizzing his friends (twisting their words) and interviewing villains that have had dealings with the hedgehog, the broadcast when Sonic storms the building to find that Hobson and Choy are behind it all.
Amy
Chasing Amy is a complete story by Jamie J, Matthew Allen Smith, Chris G and Charles Ellis. Amy is shopping in the Metropolis Zone when the Love Bug coats her in perfume designed to make her irresistible to the opposite sex. After a while attempting to escape the rabid men, Amy returns to drag the Love Bug into the sewers, ridding her of the aroma and ruining the Love Bug's designer antennae.
Sonic's World
Bitten by the Gambling Bug is a 2-part story, with this part written by Jamie J, drawn by Adamis and lettered by Ellis. Tails and Amy are visiting the Casino Night Zone to investigate the Roulette Palace, its owner Max Gamble and the influx of insect workers. They accost Gamble but are removed from the building. However, Don Long-Legs gets Harvestman to send Herne to destroy them.
Features
The Control Zone begins with Megadroid wishing STC, STC-O and Nigel Kitching happy birthdays, before going on to introduce the stories and features inside. This issue's Data Zone gives brief details about Sonic, Super Sonic, Porker Lewis, Hobson & Choy, Tails, Amy and Max Gamble. The 'story so far' is that "for years, the evil Doctor Robotnik ruled Planet Mobius. Eventually, Sonic and his Freedom Fighter gang defeated Robotnik and freed the planet. Now they fight to keep it safe from whatever might threaten it. One such threat was the Syndicate - and while they’ve been defeated, they completely destroyed the Special Zone first.
wallpapers available to download this month are of the cover (Orin), Max Gamble (Corker) and a scene of Super and Shadow the Hedgehog's battle from The Sky Is Falling (Zak Simmonds-Hurn and Chris G). The Review Zone, presented by Iain Stewart, sees the first Sonic Riders receive 92% for its fun, unlockables and innovation, but was marked down for poor graphics and lack of online support.
