Sonic the Hedgehog

What Price Victory? is the second part of the Sonic Adventure story arc, written by Nigel Kitching, drawn by Richard Elson and lettered by Ellie de Ville. Fresh from the battle with Chaos, the Freedom Fighters are now wondering why Sonic's eyes are green. Porker Lewis arrives just in time for Round 2, while Grimer explains to Doctor Robotnik about The Anti-Chaos Nullifier. Back at the battle, Porker sets up a trap but only Johnny Lightfoot has the courage to see things through to the end. The bitter end...

Features

The Data Zone appeared for the first time, giving brief outlines on all the major characters for new Boomers. Oddly, images of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy Rose were all of their Sonic Adventure appearances, and a "Dr Eggman" headshot featured at the top of the page. Elsewhere, there was also a description of Tekno the Canary (despite her having made her last new appearance two issues ago), Robotnik, Chaos and Grimer, named "Grimer Wormtongue" for the first time.

Fantastic Futures! is the theme for this issue's Graphic Zone, with robotic destinies awaiting Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. Published pictures won readers a Sonic the Hedgehog watch. The Next Issue splash leads with the encounter between Knuckles and Chaos in next issue's lead strip, as well as advertising Part 2 of the "mega-sized" Sonic poster.
