The Love Bug is a sleazy labybird in the employ of The Family. She is very proud of her shell and designer antennae. Her real name is unknown.
In her only major appearance, she appeared in Metropolis Zone on market day and, under Don Long-Legs' orders, tried selling Amy Rose a perfume that would make her irresistible to the opposite sex. When Amy refused, the Love Bug hit her with a jet of the perfume, leaving her being pursued by every man in the market. Eventually Amy tracked the Love Bug to the roof, where she was on the phone to the Don. The Love Bug was dragged down by Amy into an open manhole, where she was rapidly covered in filth.
Later on, it was revealed that Grimer had tipped off the Love Bug and other members of The Family about the impending destruction of her home in the Special Zone and brought her over to Mobius to sow the seeds of chaos.
The Love Bug appears to have been renowned enough to appear on the popular insect card game Blacksnap, as demonstrated by The Dice and Tails.
