This is Bomb King's official bio currently found in his champion page in-game.


During a fortress siege long ago, Betty La Bomba decided that the best way to breach her enemy's defenses would be to create walking bombs. Her warlock accidentally strayed from her plans, bringing one of the larger bombs to life, creating the Bomb King: a sentient being who embodied the personality of the Crystal used to create him. After destroying both armies by himself, Bomb King struck out on his own delusional quest to visit the lands under his rule, which happened to be all of them.

The common folk knew better than to offend or even stand very close to him, as his regal demeanor can instantly change to furious, explosive rage at any moment.

Though she was unable to create Bomb King, so a warlock was commissioned to bring Bomb King to life with the use of crystals. However, something would go wrong, and the warlock accidentally brought one of the larger bombs to life, which began to develop a mind of its own. After destroying Betty's entire army singlehandedly, the newly created Bomb King struck out on a delusional quest to visit every land under his rule, which just so happened to be all of them.

This was Bomb King's in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.

Summary

Bomb King is a damage champion with a heavy focus on area damage. His Sticky Bombs can be deployed on walls and even enemies, which can then be detonated at will. His Grumpy Bomb deals damage and stuns all enemies in a wide area, which is useful for area denial and forcing the enemy to get out of position. Poppy Bomb can be used both as a escape tool and to send enemies near it flying away. His ultimate skill, King Bomb, turns Bomb King himself into a mobile bomb that deals high damage in a very large area around him and stuns enemies.

Detailed Description
Throw a Sticky Bomb every 0.7s that will stick to surfaces and enemy Champions and can be Detonated. Has a maximum Ammo count of 6 and a range of 500 units. Bombs stuck to Champions detach themselves after 2s and Sticky Bombs auto-detonate when hitting Shields or targets Immune to Crowd Control.
  • This ability deals Area Damage.
  • Has a reload time of 1.6s and can be animation canceled after 1.1s.
  • Apart from champions, sticky bombs can also stick to enemy deployables and map surfaces.
    • Initial sticking on a target deals 10 damage to it.
    • Instantly detonates upon sticking to Crowd Control Immune targets, or Shields.
    • Will also unstick from deployables and fall off after 2s.
    • Will not unstick from surfaces.
  • Deploying more than 6 sticky bombs will cause the oldest one to be destroyed.
  • Sticky bombs count as deployables and can be destroyed, although not midair.

Blow up your Sticky Bombs, applying Knockback and dealing up to 850 damage per explosion to enemies and up to 225. Fully effective up to 1.5 units and will hit enemies up to 11 units away.
  • Has damage falloff based on distance from the explosion.
  • Gains 4% ultimate charge per bomb that was stuck on the target. Maximum of 24%.
    • If the bombs weren't stuck on the target, but are extremely close regardless, gain 3.5% per bomb instead. Maximum of 21%.
  • Bomb King takes a percentage of the damage when hit by his own explosion.
  • Has a pre-fire delay of 0.3s.
  • Holding this skill's input while throwing sticky bombs will make the bomb explode almost instantly.

  • This ability deals Area Damage.
  • Gains up to 4% ultimate charge per enemy caught in the explosion.
  • There is a small delay after using this skill before the bomb is thrown out.
  • Knocks Bomb King back and places him in combat if he hits himself with the explosion, but does not damage him.

Embody your reign and become the King Bomb for 5s, able to roll around and explode with LeftMouseButton or by refiring the ability. While rolling, you are Immune to Crowd Control. This explosion deals 2500 damage, Stuns enemies for 2s, and applies a Knockback to yourself. This ability ignores Shields, is fully effective up to 5 units, and will hit enemies up to 45 units away. Colliding with an enemy will detonate King Bomb.

  • Bomb King serves as an example of what happens when people have free reign with crystals.[1][2]
  • The gem embedded in Bomb King's belt is a crystal. His head is also a weak point.[2]
  • Bomb King fought alongside both the Magistrate and Resistance during the Future's End update. It's unknown why he joined them.[3][4]
  • Though Bomb King throws his various bombs with both hands, he may be predominantly left-handed.[5]

    • The line "*grunt* Just wait until I call in the murder hornets!" (▶️) may be a reference to the Asian Giant Hornet, which early in 2020, were commonly referred to as "murder hornets".
    • The lines "Was that... the real Houdini?" (▶️) and "Time to pull a houdini." (▶️) both reference the famous stunt performer Harry Houdini.
    • The line "Honey King Oh's are an explosive way to start your Saturday! Honey King is not responsible for any serious injury or death."
