Terminus ▶️ is a Front Line Champion in Paladins, added on October 18th, 2017.
Lore
This is Terminus' official bio currently found in his champion page in-game.
Terminus once was one of the last remaining Stagalla. But regardless of who he was, he has since become an instrument of war fighting on behalf of the Magistrate. His mind and memories of a life with Inara are long gone, his broken body bound by dark sorcery and unstable magic crystals. His form, stuck somewhere between life and death, may be a mere shadow of his former self, but it has also rid him of hesitation and fear.
He obediently charges into battle with reckless abandon, hefting a terrifying battle axe that few mortals could lift and even fewer could hope to withstand. Yet, he still feels.
This is an unofficial version of Terminus' bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding him. Sources can be found here.
Originally an old Stagalla created by the original Paladins to help fight off the Goblin Scourges of the past, Terminus and his partner, Inara, were awoken from their slumber by Valera, hoping to have them fight for the Resistance, which the Stagalla were oath-bound to accept.
In an early battle between the Magistrate and Resistance, Terminus easily defeated numerous Magistrate soldiers, until he was shattered and seemingly killed by Ash. However, death is not what awaited the Stagalla, as his body was collected, revived using Abyssal magic, and now controlled by Corvus as an instrument of war against his will.
Terminus would later come into conflict with Cassie and Talus, and at a later point against Yagorath alongside Corvus and Seris as well.
This was Terminus' in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.
Whatever Terminus once was, he has since become an instrument of war fighting on behalf of the Magistrate. His mind and memories are long gone, his broken body bound by dark sorcery and unstable magic crystals. His lifeless yet undying state may be a mere shadow of his former self, but it has also rid him of hesitation and fear.
He obediently charges into battle with reckless abandon, hefting a terrifying battle axe that few mortals could lift and even fewer could hope to endure.
Summary
Terminus is a front line champion whom not even death can keep down. Terminus' Massacre Axe allows him to deal damage to all enemies in front of him. His Power Siphon skill allows him to absorb enemy attacks and turn the damage into charges for his Calamity Blast skill. Shatterfall lets him leap and crash down with his axe, dealing damage and slowing enemies in the area. Terminus' ultimate skill, Reanimate, grants him the ability to revive after being killed and deal a fair amount of damage around him upon resurrection. The only problem is you have to be very close to your target to deal damage. He is best at keeping/taking an objective.

- Corvus is the one controlling Terminus.[4]
- Terminus was revived using Abyssal magic.[5]
- Terminus and Inara were married, or at the very least romantically involved.[6][7]
- Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall and comparing it to model sizes in-game and out of game, it was discovered that Terminus would be around 7' or 213cm tall.

References
- The line "Terminus smash!" (▶️) may be a reference to the Incredible Hulk's iconic line "Hulk Smash!".
- The kill taunt against Makoa "I challenged you and won!" (▶️) is likely a reference to Makoa's ultimate voice line "You challenge Makoa?!" (▶️) which has become a meme in the Paladins community.
- The cards It Follows, It Waits, and It Watches are all references to various horror movies.
- The card We Can Rebuild Him references a line from the TV series The Six Million Dollar Man.
Concepts
Various pirate-themed skin concepts were created, but never materialized in-game; among them, is the Pirate Terminus skin.[8]
- Another skin for Terminus was concepted around the Rise of Furia event, this one Abyssal-themed, but it too never materialized in-game. This skin can be viewed here.[9]
- Yet another unused skin for Terminus features an Aztec-themed design, with the skin having been submitted to the developers from an outside party, but for unknown reasons, things never moved forward.[10] While it was never mentioned who pitched this skin or even what character it was meant for, a post on ArtStation from the company GAME PILL reveals they were the ones behind the concept, and that the skin was indeed meant for Terminus.
Other
- Terminus' original voice can briefly be heard during his friendly ultimate line. (▶️)
- Despite Terminus being released prior to the Chinese version of Paladins shutting down, he was the only champion not featured in this version of the game. It was claimed to be due to China not wanting a melee character,[11] though many still believe it was really due to China's censorship regarding any form of undead creature.
- In older versions of Paladins, there used to be a number of additional recolors of default champions. For Terminus, these recolors included the Thrall skin.
- Having been present in the mobile game 'Paladins Strike', Terminus received unique skins exclusive to Strike. These skins include Master Terminus, Shogun Terminus, and Striker Terminus.
Champion Skins
Monolith
- A monolith is geological feature consisting of a single massive stone or rock, such as some mountains.
Jotunn
- This skin is based on a Norse species of the same name, also referred to as "Frost Giants."
- The line "Go on, hit me!" (▶️) is likely a reference to a line said by the Joker in The Dark Knight.
- This skin's kill taunt against Pip "He's so fluffy, I could die." (▶️) is a reference to a line from Despicable Me.
- This skin's splash art appears as a spray.
Abominable
- This skin is based on the Yeti, also known as "the Abominable Snowman".
- Concepts of this skin can be seen here.[12]
- The joke "Oh, I'm just gonna retire to Florida. No one will know the difference." (▶️) is a reference to the Florida Man meme, where news articles often describe citizens from Florida doing ridiculous and questionable activities.
Omega
- This skin appears in the Omega Crusher spray.
- This skin shares its theme with Omega Sha Lin, Omega Dredge, Omega Zhin, Omega Koga, Omega Makoa, Omega Imani, Omega Vivian, and Sigma Vivian.
Steel Forged
- The joke "My brother? My memory of my corporeal life is spotty. But I seem to remember him being a short headstrong blonde alchemist. I believe his name was Pip?" (▶️) is a reference to the anime Fullmetal Alchemist.
- The idea behind this skin was that Furia vaporized someone during an assault on the Magistrate, only to later decide this person didn't deserve such a fate, so she sealed his soul in a nearby suit of armor; thus explaining both who the lady this skin refers to is, as well as why it has Magistrate symbols on it.[13]
- This is the only Terminus skin not to beg for death upon using his ultimate.
- This skin is the only one to share its theme and naming with those of a previous Battle Pass.
- Despite sharing the exact same name and theme as other skins, Steel Forged Terminus is one of the few skins to release at a completely different time as its counterparts; it shares this trait with Merrymaker Evie.
- This skin shares its theme with Steel Forged Androxus, Steel Forged Barik, Steel Forged Imani, Steel Forged Mal'Damba, as well as all their Dragon Forged variants.
Cosmic Titan / Super Nova
- The Cosmic Titan skin appears in the Stellar Gaze avatar.
- The Cosmic Titan skin also appears in the Eyes of Eternity spray.
- These skins share their theme with Mei Zhin and Nova Mei Zhin.
