Jenos ▶️ is a Support Champion in Paladins, added on July 26th, 2017.
Lore
This is Jenos' official bio currently found in his champion page in-game.
Jenos was merely a young monk in search of greater wisdom, and a reprieve from the ravages of the Second Scourge, when he climbed that mountain many generations ago. He found his answer written among the stars, and ascended into the heavens to dedicate himself to it. He vanished for many years, leaving behind only a small group of followers who were dedicated to carrying on his legacy in the Realm.
Now, as the Realm descends into war once again, so too has Jenos descended from the stars to walk upon the ground once again, joining the battle to help foresee the cosmic horrors of Yagorath. After her defeat, Jenos thought his battle won, however even he could not predict Omen.
This is an unofficial version of Jenos' bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding him. Sources can be found here.
Once simply a young monk and reprieve of the Second Goblin Scourge, Jenos climbed Ascension Peak in search of greater wisdom, where he eventually found his answers in the stars, allowing him to ascend into the cosmos himself, where he remained for nearly a century, leaving behind a group of loyal followers.
Eventually, Jenos would return. He had seen countless wonders in the cosmos, talked with powerful forces, and learned of a dangerous threat that would one day threaten the Realm. He shared this information with Buck, who was a monk at the time, and soon enough, news began to spread of Jenos' return. As news spread, Jenos left to accomplish his goals of stopping the force he was told of in the stars, believing it to be the Abyss, the first step of Jenos' plan being to light the Warders's beacon in an effort to recruit himself powerful allies.
The news of Jenos' return eventually reached House Aico, and the head of the house, Lian, decided to recruit Jenos into their ranks, with Khan, the Primus of the house, being sent to bring the self-proclaimed god back. Jenos returned to Ascension Peak once more to give his response, however, it was not what House Aico wanted to hear, but Khan wasn't one to take "no" for an answer, leading to Siege of Ascension Peak.
Jenos would eventually repel the siege and leave for the Resistance's base to witness the outcome of events that followed the beacon being lit. Only one Warder, Imani, was left to answer the call. Following this, Jenos would partake in the battle at Bazaar and later urge the moon goddess Io to join the fight as well, which she would accept.
According to Atlas, in the Lost Future, Jenos would end up dying at some point.
This was Jenos' in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.
Originally climbing the mountains to escape the ravages of the Second Scourge many generations ago, Jenos was merely a young monk in search of a greater wisdom. After finding it written among the stars, he ascended into the heavens, vanishing for years but leaving behind a small group carrying on his legacy.
Now, as the Realm descends into war once again, so too has Jenos descended from the stars to walk upon the ground again, joining the battle for some arcane purpose only he understands.
Summary
Jenos is a team focused support champion, capable of healing allies through walls and holding enemies in place. His primary weapon, the Star Splitter, is a fully automatic celestial weapon effective in short to medium range combat. His healing ability, Astral Mark, will place a Lotus symbol over an ally anywhere so long as they are in range, giving a small burst of immediate healing and then gradual heals for an extended period of time. His offensive skill, void grip, will lift an enemy into the air and hold them there, preventing them from escaping unless they use a mobility ability or gain cc immunity. While holding an enemy in Void Grip, Jenos becomes vulnerable and cannot attack nor use abilities, including healing. To escape his enemies and catch up to injured allies, Jenos can activate Stellar Wind, which causes Jenos to move faster and jump higher. Attacking or using an ability cancels Stellar Wind. His ultimate, Through Time and Space, grants Jenos CC immunity and will stop him wherever he is, including mid-air, and charge up a huge cosmic beam of light in the direction he is facing. After a short time, Jenos will blast energy in that direction ranging almost the entire map and significantly damage all enemies, killing most. He is a great champion to play for all players who want to get into the support class. However, it is not recommended to use him as a solo healer.

Trivia
Lore
- Jenos founded the 'Tau-Kor Monastery'. Members of this monastery are seemingly known as the 'Tau-Kor'.[3][4][5]
- Jenos is known as the "monk atop the mountain".[3][5]
- Io definitely noticed when Jenos originally ascended.[6]
- Jenos initially thought the Darkness that Io warned him of was really the Abyss.[7]
- It's assumed Jenos (and other characters not shown that are involved in the conflict) was present in Yagorath's trailer and assisted in fighting, but wasn't shown due to not being able to show every single character, instead focusing on including the ones they felt would say the most by their presence.[8]
- The constellations Jenos uses for his Astral Mark and Void Grip abilities appear when Buck uses Recovery and his ultimate, Buck Wild, respectively.[9][10]
- Jenos is capable of teleporting.[11][12]
- Jenos isn't always capable of using the full extent of his power.[13][14]
- Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall and comparing it to model sizes in-game and out of game, it was discovered that Jenos would be around 5'1 or 155cm tall.
- Though this calculation presents Jenos as taller than Io (who was found to be around 4'6 or 140cm), it's been said that Jenos' supposed to be a little shorter than Io.[15]
Cameos
Jenos appears in the following content:
- Cinematics and Trailers
- Avatars
- Sprays
- Other
- End Times Story
- Heal the World - Merchandise Design
References
- One of Jenos' taunts, "In the void, no one can hear you scream." (▶️), is a reference to the science fiction horror film Alien and the iconic tagline "In space, no one can hear you scream."
- The line "The power of the cosmos... in the palm of my hand." (▶️) is a reference to a line from the film Spider Man 2.
Concepts
- Jenos had many concepts prior to his final look being settled on. Some of his weapon concepts notably feature unused animal constellations, such as a chameleon and a fox that somewhat resembles Luna.[16][17]
- Jenos also had several unused splash art concepts prior to the final composition being settled on.[18]
Other
- Jenos is one of the only characters to have an official Twitter account, sharing this trait with Khan and Lian; all three of which were created as part of a promotion for Siege of Ascension Peak and Khan's own release.[3][5]
- Jenos is tied with Khan, Lian, and Strix as having received the most unique skins from Battle Passes, though Jenos received 2 fewer recolors than the other mentioned champions.
- Jenos was originally free, but eventually changed to cost 30,000
Gold or 200
Crystals in the RWBY update.
- In older versions of Paladins, there used to be a number of additional recolors of default champions. For Jenos, these recolors included the Capricorn skin.
- Though an Obsidian and Cosmic skin aren't available for Jenos, icons for the two skins are present in the game's code.[19][20]
