Jenos

This is an unofficial version of Jenos' bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding him. Sources can be found here.

Once simply a young monk and reprieve of the Second Goblin Scourge, Jenos climbed Ascension Peak in search of greater wisdom, where he eventually found his answers in the stars, allowing him to ascend into the cosmos himself, where he remained for nearly a century, leaving behind a group of loyal followers.

Eventually, Jenos would return. He had seen countless wonders in the cosmos, talked with powerful forces, and learned of a dangerous threat that would one day threaten the Realm. He shared this information with Buck, who was a monk at the time, and soon enough, news began to spread of Jenos' return. As news spread, Jenos left to accomplish his goals of stopping the force he was told of in the stars, believing it to be the Abyss, the first step of Jenos' plan being to light the Warders's beacon in an effort to recruit himself powerful allies.

The news of Jenos' return eventually reached House Aico, and the head of the house, Lian, decided to recruit Jenos into their ranks, with Khan, the Primus of the house, being sent to bring the self-proclaimed god back. Jenos returned to Ascension Peak once more to give his response, however, it was not what House Aico wanted to hear, but Khan wasn't one to take "no" for an answer, leading to Siege of Ascension Peak.

Jenos would eventually repel the siege and leave for the Resistance's base to witness the outcome of events that followed the beacon being lit. Only one Warder, Imani, was left to answer the call. Following this, Jenos would partake in the battle at Bazaar and later urge the moon goddess Io to join the fight as well, which she would accept.

According to Atlas, in the Lost Future, Jenos would end up dying at some point.

This was Jenos' in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.

Originally climbing the mountains to escape the ravages of the Second Scourge many generations ago, Jenos was merely a young monk in search of a greater wisdom. After finding it written among the stars, he ascended into the heavens, vanishing for years but leaving behind a small group carrying on his legacy.

Now, as the Realm descends into war once again, so too has Jenos descended from the stars to walk upon the ground again, joining the battle for some arcane purpose only he understands.

  • Resplendent is to be attractive or impressive through color.

• Eclipse
  • An eclipse is when an object in space is temporarily obscured by another.

• Ghoulish Goalie
  • This skin is a reference to the Friday the 13th franchise.

• Squidbert
  • This skin's name may be a reference to Squidward Tentacles from Spongebob Squarepants.

• Exarch
  • This skin has a unique face texture hidden underneath its helmet. It's likely this was intended to be usable with the Parts and Pieces system, though said system was removed just prior to the skin's release.
  • This skin was part of the 1st Battle Pass alongside Robo Force Ruckus and Neon Demon Grohk.

• Gentleman
  • This skin is a reference to Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon.
    • This skin's Top Play line, Jenos: "My job here is done." Off-screen Voice: "But you didn't do anything." (▶️) references a meme involving Tuxedo Mask.
  • A teaser for this skin references Batman: The Animated Series.
  • This skin appears in the Gentleman Junior spray.
  • This skin shares its theme with Stellar Protector Io, Stellar Sorceress Imani, Stellar Sentinel Inara, Stellar Mender Seris, and Galactic Conqueror Vora.

• Soul Eater
  • The line "This isn't even my final form!" (▶️) is a reference to a popular meme from Dragon Ball Z.
  • Demon Slayer Zhin appears in this skin's splash art.
  • This skin, as well as Demon Slayer Zhin by extension, both had various unused splash art concepts prior to their final compositions being settled on.^[21]
  • This skin shares its theme with Oni Talus, Soulweaver Lian, Death Mage Lian, Aka Oni Tiberius, Aoi Oni Tiberius, and Bloody Bakemono Koga.

• Remix
  • This skin shares its theme with Remix Strix, Redux Strix, Remix Seris, Remix Pip, Raeve Maeve, and Neon Demon Grohk.

• Mernos
  • This skin's kill taunt against another Jenos "It truly is better under the sea." (▶️) is likely a reference to the song Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid.
  • The line "Another one bites the sand!" (▶️) may be a reference to the song Another One Bites the Dust by Queen.
  • This skin was created due to community requests for a merman skin following the release of Mermaid Ying.^[22]

  • Using Recovery with Ripjaw or Great Orange Buck will show Mernos' Astral Mark, rather than Jenos' default Astral Mark.
  • This skin appears in the Under the Sea avatar.
  • This skin also appears in the Above the Waves spray.
  • This skin shares its theme with Mermaid Ying, Siren Ying, Ripjaw Buck, Great Orange Buck, Marauder Tyra, Royal Mark Tyra, Sea Queen Saati, Crimson Tide Saati, and Leviathan Yagorath.

• Eternal Fervor / Dark Fervor
  • In the initial teaser for these skins, what seemed to be their ultimate line was used as a caption, with said line being "Step into my love, and embrace it!", however, the in-game line ended up being different (▶️). It was later said that there are multiple versions of lines written before a final one is decided on, the initial Twitter line being one of them.^[24]
  • The Eternal Fervor skin appears in the Blind Devotion and Pyre Lords sprays.
  • The Eternal Fervor skin also appears in Avatar and Modded Androxus' teaser, alongside Berserker Torvald.^[25]
  • These skins share their theme with Fallen Androxus, Archangel Tyra, Pyre Warrior Drogoz, Pyre-Lord Magnus, Eternal Retribution Koga, Dark Retribution Koga, Eternal Conflict Lian, Dark Conflict Lian, Eternal Guardian Khan, Dark Guardian Khan, and Divine Matriarch Nyx.
