Vivian

This is an unofficial version of Vivian's bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding her. Sources can be found here.

Vivian's clever and persistent scheming allowed her to rapidly rise through the Magistrate's ranks, eventually being appointed to the Deepwerks facility, where she was one of the first individuals to see the military potential in the research they were conducting.

Secretly though, Vivian was aiming to rule the Magistrate. Though one individual would end up learning of her plot, leading to Vivian joining the fight when the Crystal War broke out, not out of loyalty or to prove anything, but to silence the one witness to her plans.

When Corvus was exiled from the Magistrate, Vivian continued to work with him out of personal ambition, even assisting him when Strix and Tyra began growing suspicious of what was going on behind the scenes.

Following the defeat of Yagorath, with Karne entrusting House Aico with leadership of the Magistrate, Vivian remained with the group.

This was Vivian's in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.

Rapidly rising through the ranks of the Magistrate, Vivian's clever, persistent scheming got her appointed to the Deepwerks facility, where she was the first to recognize the military potential of the research they were conducting. In the swirling chaos of the war with the Resistance, she sees only the opportunity to advance her station in life. Equipped with some of the most advanced crystal-powered weaponry ever created, she joined the battle not to prove herself or follow orders, but to silence the lone witness of her true plans.

  • A manipulator is one who controls or influences others in a clever or unscrupulous way.

• Silvertongue
  • The term "Silver Tongue" implies one with a tendency to be eloquent and persuasive in speaking.
  • This skin was a promotional reward for attending Hi-Rez Expo in 2018; it shares this trait with Expo 2018 Seris, Coldsnap Strix, and HRX 2018 Drogoz.

• Full Throttle
  • This skin may be named after a 1995 video game of the same name.
  • The line "I was born to be wild." (▶️) is a reference to the song Born to Be Wild by Steppenwolf.

• Day Walker / Contessa
  • Despite being a vampire, these skins are also apparently vampire hunters as well.^[11]
  • The blood vial in this these skins' weapons drain as ammo is used up.
  • The line "Missed my heart...!" (▶️) references one believed method of killing a vampire is to impale them through the heart.
  • The line "Do I have something in my teeth? I'd check a mirror but... You know..." (▶️) references how vampires often lack reflections.
  • These skins have a different hairstyle in their splash art than they do in-game.
  • These skins originally had different splash arts.^[12][13]
    • Several additional splash art concepts were also made prior to this.
  • Day Walker was one of the few skins present in-game as an NPC; it shares this trait with Abyssal Lord Drogoz, Knightmare Fernando, Death Speaker Ying, and Full Moon Viktor.
  • The Day Walker skin is an Abyssal Echo. It shares this trait with Knightmare Fernando, Death Speaker Ying, and Full Moon Viktor.^[14]
  • While difficult to see in-game, the Day Walker skin appears on a medallion Count Corvus wears on his hip, as can be seen here.
  • The Day Walker skin appears in an avatar of the same name.
  • The Day Walker skin also appears in the Wink spray.
  • These skins shares their theme with Knightmare Fernando, Sanguine Fernando, Death Speaker Ying, Banshee Ying, and Full Moon Viktor.

• Omega / Sigma
  • The kill taunt against Buck "To be fair, you have to have a really high IQ to get this." (▶️) is a reference to the Rick and Morty copypasta.
  • The joke "To err is human, and to blame it on tech is even more so." (▶️) is a reference to a quote by Alexander Pope.
  • The line "Get ready to hack the planet." (▶️) is a reference to a line from the movie Hackers.
  • The Sigma skin is one of the only recolors of a non-default skin to not be released at the same time as the original skin.
  • These skins shares their theme with Omega Sha Lin, Omega Terminus, Omega Dredge, Omega Zhin, Omega Koga, Omega Makoa, and Omega Imani.

• Student of Magic / Novice
  • The Student of Magic skin appears in artwork for the Sparkling Stallion, implying the mount may have originally been planned to release earlier.
  • While not visible in-game, Bazaar can be seen in the texture for these skins' books.^[15][16]
  • These skins may be based on Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.
  • The line "No, no, no, no, you're saying it wrong! It's "Stagalla" not "Stagella"!" (▶️) may be a reference to a scene from the original Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
  • The line "You know what I like more than material things? Knowledge. Actually, I'm a lot more proud of these new magic books I had to get installed to hold all the spells I've learned." (▶️) is a reference to the Here in My Garage meme.
  • The line "It's not about the friends we've made along the way, it's about the knowledge. Knowledge, as you know, is power." (▶️) is a reference to the Friends we Made Along the Way meme.
  • The line "Just like the simulations!" (▶️) is a reference to the Just Like the Simulations meme.
  • The line "Wow, that's a lot of damage." (▶️) may be a reference to the That's a Lotta Damage! meme.
  • The Student of Magic skin appears in the Knowledge-Seeker avatar.
  • The Student of Magic skin also appears in the Min-max and Witch's Life sprays.
  • These skins share their theme with Firebrand Tyra, Frostbrand Tyra, Honey King Bomb King, Polar Bear Bomb King, Underkeeper Zhin, and Forest Stalker Zhin.
