Kinessa ▶️ is a Damage Champion in Paladins, added on March 3rd, 2016.

This is Kinessa's official bio currently found in her champion page in-game.


As a young recruit in the elite Sentinels, Kinessa took to her sniper lessons with an eagerness and enthusiasm that surprised her mentors. Frustrated by the rigors of military life, she left before she could complete her training and struck out on her own.

As the Realm descended into chaos and war, vigilante bounty contracts have been plentiful, earning her all the fame and fortune she'd lacked while in the service of the Magistrate. She still refuses to pick a side in the conflict, however, because there's much more money to be made by playing both sides than by contracting with either.

This is an unofficial version of Kinessa's bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding her. Sources can be found here.


Once a young recruit in the elite Magistrate unit known as the Sentinels, Kinessa's eagerness was enough to surprise her mentors such as Strix. However, this soon changed, as Kinessa grew frustrated with the rigors of military life, and also thought it overall more lucrative to simply be a mercenary for hire, leading to her leaving before even finishing her training and begin accepting vigilante contracts; which there was no shortage of as the Realm fell into war.

Much later, following the defeat of Yagorath, as well as House Aico taking control of the Magistrate, Kinessa rejoined the group.

This was Kinessa's in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.

Summary

Kinessa is a damage champion with a sniper rifle that deals huge damage at high range while scoped in, and lower damage with a faster rate of fire when not scoped in. Her lack of movement speed is compensated by her handy teleport tool, the Transporter. Furthermore, she can deal damage over time and slow down enemies with her Oppressor Mines. Her ultimate, Headhunter, deals 50% increased damage by successful shots made to the upper body of an enemy champion.

Throw out up to 2 Oppressor Mines that Shocks an enemy for 25 damage 0.2s within 50 units. Enemies are Slowed by 12.5% while affected by Oppressor Mines. Oppressor Mines have 200 Health and are affected by Bulldozer. Mines will not target mounted enemies. Has 2 charges.
  • This ability deals Direct Damage.
  • Can hold up to 2 charges at a time. Each charge is generated individually. Having deployed mines does not affect how many charges can be held.
  • Plays a confirmation sound when a target is hit by a mine with a brief cooldown before the sound will trigger again.
  • The damage from the mines will enter neither the target nor Kinessa into combat, so both can still get Out of Combat healing.
  • The mines won't begin targeting enemies until they land on a surface.
  • The mines won't target stealthed enemies.
  • Is a Deployable and can be destroyed.

  • Hold the keybind to see where you will teleport. Release the keybind or hit Primary Fire to teleport, or hit Alt Fire to cancel.
  • Kinessa cannot use other skills or shoot her weapon while targeting the Transporter or while it is in flight.
  • Getting hit by hard Crowd Control while the Transporter is flying will interrupt the skill, causing it to go on cooldown without effect.

After 0.25s, channel your inner focus for 8s, dealing 50% increased damage with shots to the upper half of enemies. Using this ability consumes 50% of your Ultimate charge, and instead of consuming Ammo your Sniper Rifle costs 2 Energy per Carbine shot and 8 Energy per Sniper shot.
