The AK-47 is an assault rifle featured in many games of the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series, as well as in Call of Duty Online, Call of Duty: Heroes, Rightful King, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Call of Duty: Mobile.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare & Modern Warfare Remastered
- "Fully automatic with high power. Effective at medium range."
- — Weapon description
Campaign
The AK-47 is in the single player mode and is the weapon most frequently used by the in-game enemies, such as Ultranationalists and OpFor militants.
Multiplayer
The AK-47 is one of the first assault rifles unlocked in multiplayer, being available as soon as Create-a-Class is unlocked. It is a high-damage, slow-firing assault rifle.
The AK-47 deals 40-30 damage depending on range, killing targets in three-to-four shots. The AK-47 has higher recoil than most of the other assault rifles, with a recoil pattern of 60 up, left, and right, and 30 down. Its centerspeed is average, at 1500. The recoil is symmetrical so while the weapon bounces around somewhat while firing recoil tends to go straight up. Reload speed is at 2.5 seconds loaded or 3.25 unloaded.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Nintendo DS)
Campaign
The AK-47 appears as one of the two assault rifles available in the game. It is available on all levels in the game. It is used by almost every enemy.
Multiplayer
In Multiplayer, the AK-47, like all other weapons, is available by default. It is extremely effective due to its high rate of fire, low recoil, and moderate damage.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Campaign
The AK-47 returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, albeit heavily modified and aesthetically different to its Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare counterpart. It has a beige polymer furniture and a side bracket scope mount, as well as a collapsible M4A1 stock and a railed handguard. Shots from the AK-47 sound different than those in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, possibly because of the apparent addition of a muzzle brake. The Ultranationalists and Russian Military still commonly use the AK-47, as do members of the Brazilian Militia. Many of the AKs found in the campaign are mounted with ACOG Scopes, GP-25 Grenade Launchers, or Red Dot Sights; AK-47s with a Holographic Sight can be found in the levels "Exodus," "Of Their Own Accord" and "Wolverines!" An AK-47 with a Under-Barrel Shotgun can be found in the armory in "Loose Ends" and "Wolverines!". The AK-47 appears in almost every campaign mission with the exception of "No Russian", "Just Like Old Times", and "Endgame".
Multiplayer
In contrast to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the AK-47 is the last assault rifle and the last overall weapon to be unlocked at level 70.
The AK-47 at any range short of 37 meters, will deal forty damage, taking three hits to kill, or two with headshots. Damage linearly decreases until fifty meters, where the AK-47 will deal thirty damage, taking four hits to kill, or three with headshots. The AK-47's three hit kill range to the body ends at 45 meters, and its two headshot kill range ending slightly before 45 meters. The AK-47 has medium bullet penetration power, and will kill or down enemies without interference in one shot in Hardcore game modes.
The AK-47's rate of fire is at 705 RPM. The AK-47 takes 1.75 seconds to Reload Cancel. It also has a thirty round magazine, making the AK-47 have a ninety round starting ammo loadout when the player spawns in without Scavenger Pro.
The AK-47's Grenade Launcher is the GP-25 model instead of the M203, and while the grenades themselves are unchanged, the GP-25 can be switched to faster, but will reload slower than the M203.

Modern Warfare 2: Ghost
The AK-47 is used by the terrorists who took children hostage at a school in Lisichansk, Ukraine.
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Campaign
The AK47 looks noticeably different compared to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and, to a lesser extent, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The rifle has its wooden furniture, stock, and pistol grip, lacks a muzzle brake and has different yet still clean iron sights. The magazine is also less curved and the handguard is plain. It is frequently seen being carried by Viet Cong, NVA, and Soviet soldiers throughout the campaign.
Notable exclusions are "Operation 40" and "The Defector", where it is replaced by the FN FAL, in "Rebirth" and "Redemption", where it is replaced by the AK74u and in "Numbers" where it is replaced with the Kiparis. In the mission "Executive Order", the player wields an AK47 when taking Russian officer's uniform. In "Victor Charlie", Mason uses a Viet Cong's AK47 in the first half of the mission. In the mission "Payback", Alex Mason and Frank Woods use AK47's to escape the compound and hijack the Mi-24 Hind. In "S.O.G." and "Payback", it is possible to find an AK47 with a Flamethrower attached. In the mission "Payback", Some of the SOG team and Reznov can be seen wielding their AK47's in the compound where Kravchenko was at.
Multiplayer
The AK47 is unlocked at level 38, costing the player 2000.
At any range short of 37.5 meters, the AK47 will deal forty damage per bullet, needing three shots to kill. Damage decreases linearly until fifty meters. At any range longer than fifty meters, the AK47 will deal thirty damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill. The AK47 has a three shot kill range of 45 meters. The AK47 deals 40% extra damage on a headshot. The AK47 can kill in two headshots, and the two headshot kill range is just a bit short of 43 meters. Beyond that benchmark, a single headshot guarantees a three shot kill at any distance. The AK47 is a one shot kill at all ranges in Hardcore game types. The AK47 has medium penetration power.
The AK47 fires fully automatically, with a rate of fire of 750 RPM.
The AK47 has recoil values of 60 to the left, 60 to the right, 60 upwards, and 30 downwards. The AK47 has a centerspeed value of 1500. The AK47 has noticeable gunkick.
The AK47 allows users to move at 95% of the base movement speed, or strafe at 40% of the base movement speed. The AK47 has an aim down sight time of 250 milliseconds, and an average hipfire spread. The AK47's reload animation is 2.5 seconds long, or 3.25 seconds long on an empty magazine. In either case, the user can Reload Cancel the AK47 after 1.75 seconds.
The AK47 has a standard magazine capacity of thirty rounds and a standard starting ammo loadout of 120 rounds.
The AK47 has the standard assortment of assault rifle attachments on offer. The AK47 uses the PK-AV for its ACOG Scope, the Soviet model Infrared Scope, and the GP-25 for its Grenade Launcher. The AK47's attachments all function as expected, and do not have any notable differences compared to other weapons when used on the AK47.

Zombies
In Zombies, the AK47 is unavailable in normal conditions. It can be acquired only with the give all command on PC as well as the "give ak47_zm" command/bind on Apple Mac. This cycles a few weapons for the player while gradually draining all their points. Eventually, the player ends up with an M1911, Default Weapon, Dirty Harry and an AK47. The weapon has no sounds when it is firing or reloading, and does little damage per shot, only 2.5 times that of the M1911. The AK47 also cannot be Pack-a-Punched, however, console commands show that the AK47 was going to be able to be Pack-a-Punched, to which it would gain a Flamethrower attachment.
The AK47 (with a GP-25) is also seen in the Call of the Dead poster being held by Michael Rooker.

Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS)
The AK-47 makes its return in Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS). The AK-47 resembles both Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's and the console version of Call of Duty: Black Ops's own wooden AK-47.
Campaign
The AK-47 is the most common weapon in the campaign, as it appears in every mission, which means that the ammo would never be a problem. It has the standard 30-rounds magazine, high power and high recoil and low accuracy.
Zombies
In Zombies, it can be found with or without the scope in the Mystery Boxes for 950 points. It has high recoil, low accuracy and is not very effective against zombies.
Multiplayer
In Multiplayer, it is pre-unlocked for the Insurgency factions, and 150 kills with it will unlock its scoped version. 100 headshots with any enemy weapon will unlock the grenade launcher for the AK-47.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- "The ever-popular AK-47 offers an aggressive attack with high damage and a slower rate of fire for more manageable handling. Unpredictable recoil can cause problems in long-distance engagements, but the weapon shines in mid-range, forward moving combat."
- — Call of Duty: Elite description
The AK-47 returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It was first shown with other weapons in the reveal trailer. It also appeared in the E3 Demo and the Survival Mode trailer. It is similar to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 variant and sports similar polymer furniture, albeit in a black finish. It also has a different stock, which bears strong resemblance to the M4A1's stock from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and a different handguard, which has rails on the sides that are covered with rail guards.
Campaign
The AK-47 is again commonly used by the Ultranationalists and the Russian Military, and is also a common sight in the Africa Militia. The AK-47 can only be found after the plane crash in "Turbulence". The AK-47 is also a starting weapon for Yuri in "Persona Non Grata", equipped with a Red Dot Sight, and in "Back on the Grid", equipped with a Red Dot Sight and a Suppressor. The AK-47 appears in every campaign mission with the exception of "Hunter Killer" and "Mind the Gap".
Multiplayer
The AK-47 is unlocked at Level 68. It has high damage, with a range of 31 meters, the AK-47 will deal 49 damage. The AK-47 has a moderately rate of fire, firing at 697 RPM. The AK-47 has a magazine capacity of thirty rounds. The AK-47 provides a starting ammo loadout of ninety rounds.
Special Ops
The AK-47 is available for both Survival and Mission modes.
Mission Mode
The AK-47 is available as either an alternate or an enemy weapon in almost every Mission Mode challenge, except Firewall, Charges Set, and Hostage Taker, and is also a starting weapon in Milehigh Jack.
Survival Mode
The AK-47 is available in Survival Mode at level 24 and costs $3000.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance
The AK-47 appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance, and retains most of its qualities from the Call of Duty: Black Ops DS variant.
Campaign
In Campaign, the Russians favor this weapon in use against the player and their allies. Russians often go on the offensive with the standard AK-47 or the AK-74. Russians with the scoped AK-47 actually take shots to the players head, killing them instantly or dealing high damage per shot although when the player uses the scoped AK-47, it still deals the same amount of damage as its normal variant.
Multiplayer
The AK-47 is one of the initially unlocked weapons in Multiplayer. When used it also unlocks its scoped counterpart which can be unlocked with 150 kills with the AK-47. The AK-47 grenade launcher also appears ready and loaded as a pop up "Mystery Weapon" on multiplayer maps.

Zombies
The AK47 is featured in the Zombies map Mob of the Dead, included within the downloadable content pack Uprising. It starts out with a 30-round magazine with a fair amount of reserved ammunition of 240 rounds. Pack-A-Punched, it becomes Reznov's Revenge. It still retains its 30-round magazine with 270 in reserve, but comes with a massive increase in damage, and is one of the highest damage Assault Rifles in Zombies, even without Double Tap Root Beer.

Call of Duty: Mobile
- "Fully automatic assault rifle. High damage with high recoil."
- — In-game description
The AK-47 returns in Call of Duty: Mobile.
Multiplayer
The AK-47 is a high damage-per-bullet weapon. In standard Multiplayer, at 20 meters, the base AK will deal 33 damage, thus players are able to achieve a 3-hit-kill anywhere as long as a single bullet hit the arms, chest or head. From 20 to 30 meters, the AK-47 is a consistent 4 hit kill, dealing 26 damage per shot. From 30 to 55m, a 4 hit kill can be achieved as long as every single bullet hit the arm or chest, otherwise it will always be a 5-shot kill, as the weapon now deals 23 damage per shot. After 55 meters, the weapon will deal 21 damage per shot, resulting in the AK-47 will be a 5 hit kill.
In Hardcore, the AK-47 will be a 1 hit kill weapon up to 20 meters, beyond this range the AK will be a 2 hit kill unless players hit a single bullet to the head within 30 meters.
In Battle Royale, after 20 meters, the base AK will deal 26 damage, resulting in a 4-hit kill.
The AK will deal 20% extra damage when achieving headshots, 10% extra damage when shot to the arms or chest.
Rate of fire is 545 RPM, and it can be raised to 706 RPM using the 5.45 Caliber Ammo, plus the headshot multiplier is raised by 10%, at the cost of damage (it can no longer achieve 3 shot kill outside headshots, and can no longer one-shot in Hardcore at all unless scoring a headshot within 20 meters) lower range, and losing the 10% damage buff when hitting the arms or chest.
Hip fire spread is 197(147), Aim Down Sight spread is 17(1), Aim Down Sight time is 280 milliseconds, and the base magazine size is 30 rounds, with 120 in reserves, standard in class. Reload time is 1.67s when unloaded, and 1.63s when loaded.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- "Very reliable automatic assault rifle chambered in 7.62mm Soviet. Large caliber ammunition requires skill to control recoil."
- — In-game description
The AK-47 returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Overview
Campaign
The AK-47 is the main assault rifle for Al-Qatala, and is sometimes used by Barkov's Forces, though the latter more often use the AK-12. It's "Alex Keller's" primary weapon in "Proxy War" and "Highway of Death".
Some versions of the AK-47 found in the campaign are modeled after the "Steel Curtain" blueprint from multiplayer, and some others use the "Revolution" model. Farah Karim uses the latter as her signature weapon, fitted with its unique folding stock that is not obtainable in single player.
Multiplayer
It is unlocked at rank 53 in multiplayer, but can be used as early as level 2 via the default class 'Demolitions' the AK-47 takes the familiar role of a high damage, fully-automatic assault rifle. It will kill in 3 shots anywhere to the body within 28 meters and can require up to 4 shots past this distance. Landing 2 headshots will kill at all ranges and the AK benefits from bonus damage when shooting the chest. This bonus damage is enough to ensure a 3-shot kill past 28 meters with one shot to the upper torso followed by two anywhere else. In Hardcore, the gun will be a 1-shot kill at any distance.
In Gunfight, it was possible for players to receive the AK-47 with a unique compact barrel that has the wood foregrip of the 23.0" Romanian barrel, despite this combination not being available to the weapon under normal circumstances.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
- "Full-auto assault rifle. High damage with a marginally slower fire rate. Excellent stopping power for mid to short range encounters."
- — In-game description
The AK-47 returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Overview
Campaign
The AK-47 is the main assault rifle for most Warsaw Pact forces, including Viet Cong, Stasi, Tropas, Soviet Army and Perseus.
Helen Park uses an AK-47 as her primary weapon in "End of the Line" and "Ashes to Ashes". Perseus wields an AK-47 if Bell signals the ambush in "Ashes and Ashes", and gives it to Bell to fight Adler and his team.
The Viet Cong use an exclusive variant which features a different front sight, an alternate receiver, pistol grip, foldout bayonet and sling. Some are also fitted with a folding stock similar to the KGB Skeletal Stock in Multiplayer.
Zombies
The AK-47 can be brought into any map via Create-A-Class, at Loadout rarity and can be found at any rarity in the Mystery Box for 950 Essence. When Pack-a-Punched, the AK-47 becomes the Rasputin's Retribution.
A 2D image of the AK-47 is also used in Dead Ops Arcade 3: Rise of the Mamaback, as the timer for weapon pickups and damage increasing pickups.

Trivia
General
- In Call of Duty Online and Call of Duty: Mobile, the AK-47's iron sights are misaligned.
- In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, equipping a silencer will result in the player having a different melee sound while holding the AK-47.
- In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the AK-47's serial number is 29022163.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- When using a GP-25 in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the AK-47's gas block will disappear in first-person.
- The remastered version has a manufacture date of 1970.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- When the AK-47 is equipped with the GP-25, it is called "AK-47 Grenadier," rather than "AK-47 w/ Grenade Launcher."
- Without any attachments, it does not have any idle sway when aiming down the sights, but if an attachment is added, it has a small amount of sway.
- An unusable leaf sight is added to the AK-47 when the GP-25 is equipped.
- The serial number of the gun is 122874.
- In first person, when sensitivity is on 10, spinning to reveal the other side of the gun, the fire mode selector can be seen and is set to semi-automatic, but in third-person it is on the correct fully automatic fire.
- The AK-47 in the original and the remastered game has the Russian Izhevsk Arsenal logo (arrow in triangle).
- The remastered model has "U R J" fire selector markings on the right side.
Call of Duty: Black Ops
- The colored AK47 pick-up icon in Call of Duty: Black Ops was changed to no colors in the GamesCom "WMD" trailer, then changed again to colored and enhanced in the October GTTV singleplayer trailer of the game. The pick-up icon is enhanced but not colored in the finalized version of the game.
- The AK47's serial number is 20923.
- Sometimes in the campaign, an AK47 can be found with most of the available attachments on it. However, these variants cannot be picked up.
- The AK47 has the Russian Tula Arsenal star logo on the dust cover.
- The extended mag has the Bulgarian Kazanlak Arsenal "Circle 10" logo on the rear of the magazine.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- The campaign firing sound for the silenced AK-47 is different from the one in multiplayer.
- Call of Duty ELITE states in the weapon statistics that the AK-47 has a magazine of 20 rounds when actually it has a magazine of 30 rounds.
- During "Return to Sender", it is possible to find an AK-47 with all attachments, but it is not obtainable, because the Africa Militia soldier that is carrying it will be crushed by a falling wall.
- In "Eye of the Storm", certain members of the Czech Resistance may also have unusable AK-47's with every attachment.
- The upper handguard reads "SAIGA 5.56 SYSTEM" and "MADE IN RUSSIA".
- The magazine reads "5.56 Cal B4 448875" and "MADE IN AFGHANISTAN".
- The AK-47 has a manufacture date of 1963 as well as a Russian Izhevsk Arsenal logo.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
- Its Pack-a-Punched name in Mob of the Dead, "Reznov's Revenge", is a reference to Viktor Reznov.
- The AK47 has the Russian Tula Arsenal star logo on the dust cover.
- If putting the camouflage on the AK47, the details are little small, but when turning away from the sun the side of the receiver will show silver which is almost finished and the magazine will have all silver shining finished with some little black details behind.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
- It is possible to see the Atlas logo on the weapon.
- Players who received the free Unforgiving variant between February 26th and 29th, 2016, that did not already have a variant of the AK-47 along with the normal AK-47, did not get the normal AK-47 when they received the free Unforgiving variant.
- In Exo Zombies, Decker can be seen holding an AK-47 in Descent main menu.
