The Uzi is a submachine gun featured in Modern Warfare 2: Ghost, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Mobile.

Modern Warfare 2: Ghost

The Uzi is used by Gilberto when he attacked some Americans in a street fight and used by several of Manuel Roba's other men.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Campaign

The Uzi can be found in the level "Payback", both lying on the ground, in the clearing that Mason lands the Hind in, and in the hands of a few Spetsnaz troops at the entrance to the POW compound, sometimes with Extended Mags and the ACOG Scope.

Multiplayer

The Uzi is the fifth SMG to unlock, at level 23.

At any range short of 17.5 meters, the Uzi will deal thirty damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill. Damage decreases linearly until 25 meters. At any range longer than 25 meters, the Uzi will deal twenty damage per bullet, needing five shots to kill. The Uzi has a four shot kill range of 21.9 meters. In Hardcore game types, the Uzi becomes a two shot kill to the body after 17.5 meters. A headshot will reduce the number of shots to kill by one in most instances except in Hardcore, where a headshot rarely makes a difference. The Uzi has low penetration power.

The Uzi fires fully automatically, firing at a rate of 937 RPM.

The Uzi has recoil values of 75 to the left, 75 to the right, 80 upwards, and 50 downwards. The Uzi has a centerspeed of 1600.

The Uzi allows players to move at 100% of the base movement speed, or 80% when strafing. The Uzi aims down the sight in 200 milliseconds and it has good hip-fire accuracy. The Uzi's reload animation is 2.4 seconds long, or 3.25 seconds long if the magazine is empty. In either case, the user can Reload Cancel after 1.8 seconds.

The Uzi has a magazine capacity of 32 rounds, and a starting ammo loadout of 128 rounds.

The Uzi has the standard SMG attachment selection available. All attachments work as expected on the Uzi.

The Uzi has the same firing sound as one of the firing sounds in the Decoy.

Zombies

The Uzi appears in the zombies map Mob of the Dead as a wall weapon for 1500 points. It has a 25-round magazine with 275 reserve ammo. The Uzi can be found in multiple places throughout the map for 1500 and is a solid weapon for middle rounds due to its high fire rate and rather plentiful ammo reserves. When Pack-a-Punched, it becomes the Uncle Gal with a slightly larger reserve ammo of 300.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

"Fully automatic open bolt submachine gun. Simple, steady, effective."
— In-game description

The Uzi returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Overview

Campaign

The Uzi is heavily used in the campaign by the Al-Qatala as well as the ULF. It is also used by some of Barkov's forces. Some of the Uzis are modeled off of several Blueprint variants.

Multiplayer

Using Stopping Power Rounds on the Uzi results in less recoil while firing, which has the opposite efect on other weapons.

Call of Duty: Mobile

"Well-balanced sub-machine gun with superior mobility and steady control."
— In-game description

The Uzi returns in Call of Duty: Mobile as the USS 9. It was added in November 2024 as part of the Season 10: 5th Anniversary update.

Multiplayer

The USS 9 fits a similar niche to the GKS and Striker 45 as a high damage and low fire-rate SMG. However, compared to those weapons, the USS 9 has a major advantage in the form of a two headshot kill, with a three-shot kill to all parts of the body out to the same range.

Its recoil is fairly manageable for its class, similar to the Razorback in intensity.

It also has a larger than average magazine of 32, with magazine attachments allowing increases to 40 and 50 rounds without a reduction to reload speed. It also possesses a 41. AE conversion like its Modern Warfare counterpart. While it does not increase outright damage, it does provide a major 25% boost to range, at the cost of increased recoil. With the FSS Carbine Pro barrel, Monolithic Suppressor, and .41 AE 32-Round Magazines, range can be increased by 85%, allowing the gun to get two-headshot kills out to 20 meters, a feat that no other SMG has.

Battle Royale

The USS 9 can be equipped in the player's personal loadout.

USS 9 (Klepto's Gift)

"SMG smuggled through L.S.T."
— Description

A Mythic variant, the USS 9 (Klepto's Gift), is available in the map Krai. It can be obtained by activating the train in the Station; the arriving train will contain either the USS 9 or the J358 (Tontine's Sidearm).

Trivia

Call of Duty: Black Ops

  • When a Grip is added to this weapon a stock is added instead of an actual grip, as with most other submachine guns in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
  • As with all other 30-20 damage Submachine Guns, Rapid Fire has no effect on the Nintendo Wii.
  • The pick-up icon has the stock on the Uzi, even though it only appears when equipped with a Grip.
  • There is small writing on the back left side of the Uzi that says "Izi semi auto model B" that indicates that it is a semi-automatic variant, instead of the fully automatic variant that it apparently is in the game.
  • Under the iron sights there is a "1" (referring to 100m sight setting), just like the MP5K in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
  • The Uzi has a folded stock on the Nintendo Wii.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

  • In Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the Create-a-Class image shows the Uzi with a collapsed stock, whereas the in-game weapon lacks one by default, and gains an extended stock with the grip attachment.
    • When picking up an Uzi with grip, there is no sound for extending the stock
  • The third person magazine is slightly longer than that of the Create-a-Class image.
  • The weapon's Pack-a-Punched name in Mob of the Dead is a reference to the Uzi's creator, Uziel Gal.
  • The third person model has a rail on top, while in first person there is no rail.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

  • The "Sunset" blueprint uses the primary colors of Devin "D Book" Booker's basketball team, the Phoenix Suns.
  • By having the "Creeping Death BlackCell" blueprint selected in the Create-A-Class menu, the player's screen will have a static effect enabled.
