- "Full-auto assault rifle. Improved accuracy with low recoil."
- — In-game description
The ICR-7 is an assault rifle featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. It was developed in the Czech Republic by the fictional manufacturer Novak Hollas. It also has an MKII variant along with 2 Mastercraft variants.
Multiplayer
The ICR-7 is a medium-damage, highly accurate low-recoil assault rifle with a below-average time-to-kill, requiring five shots to kill in close-quarters. The slow time-to-kill is the ICR-7's most limiting characteristic and prevents it from competing with most SMGs in CQB engagements. However, the weapon's signature low recoil balances this out, allowing an accurate player to effectively suppress enemies across long distances.
Handling is average for the Assault Rifle category, with a swift reload time of 1.17 seconds. The hipfire spread is relatively small and is adequate enough to allow for hipfire at close quarters. The ICR-7 also possesses a 35-round magazine, which when combined with the lower-than-average RPM and the fast reload, allow the player to hold their own in prolonged gunfights.
Optics such as the Reflex or Holographic Sight may be chosen over the default Iron Sights, however this is entirely up to personal preference. Using a longer-range optic, such as the Recon, allows the player to better engage enemies at long distances.
As for general attachments, Quickdraw is a good choice for the ICR-7 as it allows the rifle to aim down sight faster and thus giving it better close range performance. The Grip attachment, and more specifically Grip II, can be very beneficial for the ICR; while its recoil is not particularly high, the little movement from recoil it does have may hinder longer range gunfights. Other notable attachments for the ICR-7 include FMJ, which not only provide extra penetration through cover but also negate and destroy Armor entirely. Long Barrel will also double the damage range of the ICR-7, allowing for a 5 shot kill up to 100 meters.
The ICR-7 is an overall well-rounded weapon, being unlocked immediantly in Multiplayer and being popularly used by the community. It may be considered a "base" weapon due to being featured predominantly in promotional materials and game marketing.
Zombies
The ICR-7 appears in the Zombies maps Voyage of Despair, IX, Blood of the Dead, Classified, Dead of the Night, Ancient Evil, Alpha Omega and Tag der Toten, being available as a wall weapon to buy for 1550 points or from the Mystery Box for 950 points.
When upgraded via Pack-a-Punch Machine, it becomes the Impertinent Deanimator with the magazine size increased to 45 rounds and its ammo reserve increased to 360. It is unlocked for customization in the Armory at level 5.
Attachments
The ICR-7 has a decent variety of attachments, primarily focused on improving accuracy and handling. While the ICR doesn't have a unique Operator Mod, it does have the Grip II variation. The NVIR Optic is exclusive to Multiplayer, however everything else is usuable in Zombies and Blackout.
