Trivia

  • Blast Burn was the last variation of the move, Hyper Beam, to make a debut in the main anime. It made its first appearance in Mega Evolution Special I, 3 entire generations after the move was added to the games.
  • This move was originally meant to be Charizard's signature move, but it was given to the other Fire-type first partners in Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, and the trend has continued with each new first partner since. However, Charizard is the most prominent user of the move.
