Summary

It's just sports day

The school holds its annual school festival. While getting ready,Komi and Tadano meet Netsuno Chika, a highly competitive and smug student from a higher course. She begins randomly listing other people’s temperatures, and insults the frightened Komi by calling her “cold-blooded” and claiming she might hold her class back. This invigorates Yamai and the rest of the class to beat Netsuno, though Komi and Tadano don’t care. The first event is synchronized warm-ups, and the school vice-principal is so enthused by Komi’s pose that she gives her class the victory. The second is a tug-of-war competition, where some of the students faint from being next to Komi, causing them to lose their grip and lose. The third is a relay race, during which Agari falls behind from exhaustion and Nakanaka blunders one of the obstacles. The last person is Tadano, who gets dizzy and falls down. Seeing Komi just standing there, Najimi persuades her to cheer Tadano on. She barely manages to, but Tadano somehow hears her and uses this motivation to sprint all the way to the end, but only gets third out of five. Not long after, the event gets rained on, when Shuuko arrives to cheer her daughter on. Komi pushes her away in embarrassment, but Shuuko says she is happy to see her have so many people look up to her, and the rain magically dissipates. After many other events, the final event is another relay race, in which Komi, Yadano, Shinobino, and Sonoda are pitted against the other top classes, with Komi herself going up against Netsuno. During the race, Komi manages to keep pace with Netsuno, but slips and falls. Initially discouraged, she gets the courage from her friends after hearing them cheer her on, enabling her to continue running and finish the race, with Netsuno winning it all. Ignoring the result of the race, the class races to her aid and are proud of her effort, which makes Netsuno emotional. Netsuno later apologizes for looking down on her earlier, as Komi’s class comes second in the tournament behind Netsuno’s class.

It's just emotional pangs

Later, Komi notices Tadano walking with another girl in the hall, and begins to feel jealous towards her. Later, Tadano becomes overwhelmed by a series of class president duties, so the girl, named Onemine Nene, offers to help while also punishing Najimi for forgoing their own responsibilities. Komi also offers her help, but Onemine says they don’t need her, and Tadano agrees, making Komi even more jealous. As they walk, Onemine asks Tadano if he is a masochist, as she believes he is bullied by literally everyone (including the teachers and Komi) and was concerned for him. Tadano realizes he may be getting targeted, but assures Onemine that Komi is a good person and not the oppressive dictator she believes she is (largely due to everyone else gawking over her). Just then, they see Komi watching them from a corner; Onemine tries talking to her, but she flees. That evening, Tadano is again saddled with a bunch of work and Onemine again offers to help. Komi prepares to leave, but returns offering her help once again, which Tadano accepts, making her joyful. Realizing Komi's affection towards Tadano, Onemine makes an excuse to leave the two of them together and departs. The next day, Onemine meets with them again. Komi apologizes to Onemine for running away earlier, making Onemine Komi’s twelfth friend. Onemine apologizes for getting too close to Tadano, but whispers in Komi’s ear (while Yamai angrily watches) that she is rooting for Komi and Tadano to get together. This greatly flusters Komi, who flees up the stairs; when Tadano asks what she said, Onemine declares it a secret.

It's just photo stickers.

Komi learns of photo booths where people can edit the photos, and invites Tadano to go to one. Najimi and Yamai invite themselves along, as the former is skilled at taking photos while the latter is skilled at editing them. In the arcade, they take photos, but Komi gets confused about the directions the photo booth gives them and ends up giving her big-eyed expression in all of them; Najimi finds this hilarious, while Yamai gets turned on regardless. As they are about to leave, Tadano noticed Komi looking at a cat keychain in a claw game. Three days later, Tadano arrives with one of the keychains, having won it afterwards. It turns out Komi had gotten him one as well (with Najimi’s help), so she suggests they exchange their gifts. They do so, but are too flustered to put them on their bags.

In a post-credits scene, Komi arrives home from school, where she holds on to Tadano's keychain tightly and rolls on her bed in delight as Shuuko watches.
