Vezreh

"You may have driven us from the Sundom... but now is the time for revenge."
―Vezreh

Vezreh was a minor character and antagonist in Horizon Forbidden West. He is the leader of Eclipse remnants that fled into the Forbidden West.

History

Sometime between Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West

Vezreh was among a handful of Eclipse who survived the Battle of the Alight. Taking leadership of the remaining cultists, Vezreh escaped with a portion of his men into the Forbidden West, leaving instructions in the Daunt for any others to find.[1]

Vezreh had his men set up a base in No Man's Land, which he dubbed "Shadow's Reach". He began kidnapping Utaru to provide slave labor for the fortress's construction. Having found a cache[2] of undetonated explosives from Operation: Enduring Victory[3] within the ruins of his new base, he formed a plot to destroy the capitals of the five known tribes, bringing them under the Eclipse's rule and forming an empire to control the entire known world.[4]

Horizon Forbidden West

When Aloy broke into Shadow's Reach (freeing his slaves in the process), Vezreh attacked her alongside an overridden Ravager, but proved no match. In his final moments, he activated a bomb in a last-ditch attempt to bring the Nora huntress down with him. However, Aloy was escape to escape the explosion, leaving Vezreh the only person killed as part of Shadow's Reach collapsed.[5]

Personality

Vezreh paired the bigotry and religious fundamentalism indicative of the Eclipse with raving megalomania.
