Introduction

Irisイーリス Īrisu? is the human poster girl for the bar that Wolf runs, and is a Shadow Warrior. She is assigned to the mission to assassinate the Great Mage Serie.

Personality

Not much is known about Iris's personality, but she appears to be lighthearted and playful, even in serious situations. She is also fearless, treating dangerous missions with a sense of excitement rather than apprehension.

Appearance

Iris is a young girl with twin ponytails that fall past her shoulders. She wears a black coat that buttons at the neck, over a simple white top with a high collar that reaches her chin. Her outfit also includes a long black dress, boots, and a wide, lace-up corset around her waist.

Synopsis

Foundation Festival Arc

Shortly after Löwe informs Schritt of the new mission to assassinate the Great Mage Serie, Wolf passes the details on to Iris, who then informs the librarian Routine.

The next day, Iris attends the Shadow Warrior's final meeting to review the mission details. When Schritt remembers that she has forgotten to tell her own brother Kreis to attend the meeting, Iris remarks that they can only trust Schritt with her sword skills. Clematis then shares the lists he created for the mission, and mentions that he wrote them in a way even a child can understand, which Iris quips about. Later, when Gazelle expresses that he would have deserted if he had seen the target lists before meeting Stark and Frieren, Iris asks whether they are strong.

After the meeting concludes, Iris leaves with Routine, as Wolf ordered all Shadow Warriors to depart in pairs. They take an underground passageway from the era of the Unified Empire. Iris accidentally activates a trap, but both she and Routine are left uninjured. Later, Routine and Iris report to Clematis that the midway point of the tunnel was flooded with water, rendering it unusable for the operation.

Relationships

Routine

Out of all the Shadow Warriors, whether by choice or by coincidence, Iris is paired with Routine the most frequently. Iris and Routine appear to pretend to be each other's friends as their aliases, and communicate intel and information about missions through running into each other and speaking on the streets. When Wolf directs the Shadow Warriors to pair up, Routine and Iris end up patrolling together. However, Iris reveals their friendship to be a ploy; she calls Routine dreary, and bemoans having to spend the Foundation Festival with Routine instead of her friend.

Abilities

Not much is known about Iris's abilities. As a Shadow Warrior, she likely excels in strength, speed, mana suppression, and anti-mage combat. After encountering Stark, Gazelle remarked that he stood no chance against him but might if Iris were with him. She has also demonstrated the ability and reaction speed to stop a poisoned arrow with her teeth.

  • Poison immunity: Through rigorous training, Iris developed poison immunity. Even poisons that are lethal will at worst give her a stomachache.
