Aura is a dragon form in Breath of Fire IV. It is Ryu's initial transformation, and becomes available after a scripted event that occurs right after Fou-Lu obtains the Astral transformation. Its traits are roughly equivalent to those of a Whelp in Breath of Fire III, and it has an assortment of flame-based and defensive magic, as well as a non-elemental breath weapon.

Etymology

Aura is the Greek goddess of the morning breeze. In Latin, it means "breath of air," which is similar to the name of the Breath of Fire series (see Breath of Fire IV Translations).
