Scrutins are beasts found within Legerdomain that fly in large swarms.
Appearance
Scrutins are roughly three feet long, seemingly made of stone, shaped like a diamond, with one tip replaced by a single purple eye, and have wings.
Scrutins are known to the inhabitants of Legerdomain as "the eyes and ears of Addwaitya"[1][2] despite, as noted by Kevin, appearing to have no ears.
History
Ultimate Alien
In Where the Magic Happens, some Scrutins attacked the team and Charmcaster in Legerdomain. After Kevin and Chromastone held them off, Charmcaster performed a spell that concealed the four from the Scrutin, causing them to fly off. They later attacked the four as they were escaping Legerdomain.
In Enemy of My Frenemy, the trio were attacked by Scrutins once again, though Fasttrack, Gwen and Kevin escaped them. They gave chase, but were fended off by Ignaceous.
In Couples Retreat, Charmcaster formed an army of Scrutins from the remains of a Rock Monster to attack Michael, though he quickly destroyed them.
Powers and Abilities
Scrutins are able to shoot beams of manna from their eye.[2]

Etymology
The name Scrutin is a contraction of the word "scrutinize", meaning "to examine closely".
