Orishan

Orishan are a species of naturally armored molluscan aliens from the planet Kiusana[AP 1] in the Andromeda Galaxy.

Appearance

Orishan are a red mollusk-like species. They have two large eyes in Ultimate Alien and four slitted and rectangular eyes in Omniverse. They have small grey spikes and black spots on the back of their legs and shoulders. Their mouth is similar to that of a crab's.

Orishan have portholes on their four-clawed hands.

Orishan have hoods over their heads, with a retractable visor. Their hood is also retractable.

Behavior

Orishan are the most revered species on Kiusana by far, as they can use their powers to extract oxygen and hydrogen from Kisuana's arid atmosphere, and create water as a natural byproduct (in the similar way that Humans produce carbon dioxide as a waste resource when breathing). This display is widely seen by other species as "magical" and "wondrous". As such, Orishan are employed as village shamans, and are the subject of all manner of art and monuments praising them, which can be found all over the planet.[AP 1]

Powers and Abilities

Orishan have the power of hydrokinesis, meaning they can control and manipulate any sources of ambient water,[AP 1] including normal Earth water.[ES 1][DM 1] This was first demonstrated by Bivalvan, who changed the direction of his water blast to knock Chromastone into some cables.[1] Waterhazard has also used hydrokinesis to create water whips and to cushion Gwen's fall.[2]

Orishan are particularly adept at extracting hydrogen and oxygen from the air and creating water out of it.[AP 1] This allows them to keep a steady supply of water in their bodies, which grants them the ability to launch pressurized blasts of water through the portholes in their hands. With essentially the same kinetic energy as a fire hose, these blasts can be used to smash through walls, move large objects, and blast away enemies.[AP 1] Orishan can use these same portholes to absorb water[DVD 1] and moisture from the air.[3]

Orishan can jump exceptionally high.[4] They can also use their water blasts to propel themselves into the air.[5][DR 1]

Orishan are extremely durable, being able to withstand crashing into a wall seemingly painlessly.[6] This is due to their incredibly tough, armored exoskeleton that protects their bodies and makes them nearly invulnerable to any physical attack.[7][8][AP 1]

Orishan have enhanced strength, enough to throw a Buglizard into a nearby wall[9] and punch craters into a concrete floor.[4]

Orishan are very clever and adept with technology, which allows them to build and repair complex machines, as demonstrated by Bivalvan.[1][AP 1]

Orishan can breathe underwater.[1][DM 2]

Orishan can withstand radiation, such as that generated by a Prypiatosian-B.[10] However, they have been shown to be potentially hurt by the force of a Prypiatosian-B's radiation attack.[10]

Orishan have retractable visors hidden under their hoods.[11] Their hoods are also retractable.[11][DJW 1]

Weaknesses

Orishan are vulnerable to intense heat, such as that generated by a Prypiatosian-B.[12][10] They are also vulnerable to electricity, as demonstrated by Bivalvan.[1]

Orishan can be frozen by a Necrofriggian's ice breath.[13] Similarly, they can be ensnared by an Evolved Arachnachimp's webs, as demonstrated with Bivalvan.[1]

Technology

Orishan glass is known to be the best to adapt to multiple atmospheres.[14]
