“ | We are the Esoterica. We stand here tonight as liberators. | ” |
– One of the members of the Esoterica.[1] |
The Flame Keepers' Circle Soldiers, also known as the Esoterica, are worshippers and followers of Dagon. They are led by a man named Conduit Edwards.
Appearance
All the Esoterica wear clothes with gold, red, and black colors. They wear black shoes with golden braces above them and tight black pants with short red skirt-like robes. A golden brace is around their waist and they wear black shirts with gold and red braces around their arms. They also wear red scarfs and masks that are gold with black parts on them.
History
The Esoterica are members of a secret cult called the Flame Keepers' Circle; posing as a philanthropic organization that takes donations and use them to provide humanitarian aid. Recruiting celebrities to spread their message is also common.
Aside from having access to alien technology, the cult's warriors are ninja-like fighters who use a technology that allows them to move between dimensions. They use it to teleport over short distances and walk through the air.
They stopped Ben from destroying Vilgax, whom they thought was Dagon due to his true form, which is why they worshipped him.
When Dagon was released from his seal, he converted almost every human in the world into an Esoterica. Ben Tennyson used Ascalon to revert them back to normal.
Powers and Abilities
Esoterica possess signature ability to "phase" through dimensions at will, allowing them to instantly teleport their full forces to any location, dodge any kind of attack, as well as catch enemies off-guard by immediately teleporting to attack their blind spots. They can also interact with objects in another dimension without switching their dimensions.[2]
Esoterica can manipulate golden-colored energy to a high level, most commonly shaping them into large energy bombs, which tend to explode or scatter in multiple directions. They can also create force-fields to protect their allies.[2]
Esoterica are very agile and skilled fighters.[2]
Esoterica have no manna signal and are thus not trackable by manna users.[3][4]
Weaknesses
Esoterica can still get hurt when in another dimension if one knows where they are. Humans also can't control their actions and thoughts when being a part of the Esoterica.
Their dimension jumping abilities won't work if they're restrained by manna due to it being multi-dimensional.[5] They also can't teleport through shields/domes made out of manna for the same reason.[4]

Trivia
- The Esoterica is very similar to the Scientology.
- The name is in reference to a story called "The Shadow Over Innsmouth", written by H.P. Lovecraft. In the story, there is a cult of humans and deep ones called the "Esoteric Order of Dagon" who worship the eldritch god Dagon, similarly to how the Esoterica follow and worship Dagon.
