The Mycelium,[1] also known as Fungal Brain,[credits 1][Bandai 1] was a minor villain in Ben 10.
Appearance
The Mycelium resembles a giant virus with a Vulpimancer like mouth.
History
Ben 10
The Mycelium was an evil fungus-like creature that commanded fungi at Camp Opinicon and two of his victims were Ben and Grandpa Max. Ben fought him as Wildvine, but it did not work. Instead, he dropped his bottle of athlete's foot powder into the Mycelium's mouth, killing him and the fungal warriors.
Powers and Abilities
After taking root, the Mycelium can create large mushrooms within a wide radius of itself. Some of these mushrooms also double as mouths. It also possesses large tentacle-like tendrils strong enough to lift a bulldozer.
The Mycelium is capable of creating fungal humanoids to defend itself. These humanoids possess teeth sharp enough to chew through steel cables. [1]
The Mycelium can telepathically communicate with all plant life.[1]
Weaknesses
Being a fungus, the Mycelium is extremely vulnerable to fungicide, as Ben was able to kill it by forcing it to ingest a can of fungicide powder, and Gwen was able to kill its spawned mushrooms by sprinkling light amounts of fungicide on them from midair.[1]
If the Mycelium is killed, the fungal humanoids under its control will also die shortly afterwards. However, its tendrils and mushrooms will remain intact and must be destroyed separately.[1]
