Matthew (Japanese: 橋本鉄平 Hashimoto Teppei) , more commonly called Matt, is a student in class 5-2 and a classmate to Nate and Katie.
Physical traits
Appearance
Matt wears a purple hoodie and a yellow beanie-like hat. He also wears black pants with red sneakers. A single tuft of brown hair peeks out from the beanie.
Personality
He is a fan of arcade games, evident in Yo-kai Watch, where he appears exclusively in Arcadia Arcade, located in Downtown Springdale. He is on good-enough terms with his classmates to organize games of hide-and-seek.
In Yo-kai Watch 2, he is shown to have some interest in card games.

Yo-kai Watch
He can be found in Arcadia Arcade in Downtown Springdale. Initially, he is inspirited by Chansin, causing him to frivolously waste money on a crane game. After finishing the request "Crane-Game Mania" and freeing him from Chansin's influence, he will offer to play hide-and-seek with the player.
Yo-kai Watch 2
He first appears in the request "Matt, Don't Give Up!"
While playing soccer with Mark, Andy, Daniel, and Casey, he is inspirited by the Yo-kai trio Nosirs, who cause him to deny that Andy's shot was a goal, much to his annoyance. After the player the wards the Yo-kai away, he apologizes to the others.
He later makes an appearance in the request "A Card-Carrying Liar", this time having been inspirited by Chatalie. She causes Matt to brag to Casey and Stephen about obtaining a rare Derriera Dragon Card. After the player defeats Chatalie, he realizes what he has said and goes to find one at Toys iz We. He chooses a card pack with the help of the player and Chansin, but it does not contain the rare Derriera Dragon card. Matt and the player look for one in the Shopping Street Narrows, and the player finds it. Relieved, Matt goes back to Casey and Stephen, but is inspirited by Chatalie again, causing him to brag about other cards he doesn't have. This time, the player insists that Matt is "on his own".
Later, Matt can also be found in the Arcadia Arcade.
Yo-kai Watch 3
Matt can only be found in a Bizarre Room.

Matt appears as a minor character, as one of Nate's classmates.
