Biology
Tomnyan has a similar appearance to Jibanyan. His fur is yellow, and his haramaki has red and blue stripes. The bell on his collar resembles a bell atop a bell tower.
Tomnyan comes from BBQ, and likes to constantly rave about his home country which can bother Nate and Whisper. He shares multiple similarities with Jibanyan, such as laziness, eating Mega Tasty Bars and is a diehard fan of Lady Nya Nya. Though, his voice is deeper.
When Tomnyan inspirits a person, they become an American stereotype, gaining blonde hair, blue eyes and a handsome mouth, and will occasionally integrate country slang (English words in foreign-language versions) into their sentences.
He is also very skilled at playing the guitar and singing. Usapyon loves it, Nate and Whisper are neutral, if not cringe about it, but Jibanyan hates it.
Profile
Yo-kai Watch 3
Tomnyan was first seen during Nate's story arc, when he was arguing with the Koma Knomads over sushi or tempura. Tomnyan was in favor for Tempura, while the Koma Knomads were in favor of Sushi. The player must either choose between the two*, whereas picking tempura will make the Agency Request! Showing Springdale! Quest activated in the story.
If sushi is chosen instead, he can be befriended in Tomnyan's Gourmet BBQ Tour! which happens after completing the main storyline of the game.
Tomnyan can randomly appear when Nate is riding the train in Springdale. Nate asks if he's enjoying Springdale. Tomnyan tells him he's having fun sightseeing. Nate asks if anyone has confused him for Jibanyan which Jibanyan wondering if they really look that similar. Nate says they are however notes that Tomnyan has blue eyes. Tomnyan says he'll let him in on a secret about it and reveals that he's wearing blue contact lenses. Nate believes him but Tomnyan quickly backtracks, saying he's joking.
Yo-kai Watch Busters 2
Tomnyan can be befriended upon completing the Yo-kai Circle Advance Army of Advance with the following Yo-kai.

Etymology
"Tomnyan" is a combination of tom (both a male cat and a common male name) and nyan (onomatopoeia for a cat's call). Also, based off of a "Tomcat" a cat especially fixed up to breed.
Trivia

- His favorite singer is Lady Nya Nya, who is a parody of Lady Gaga.
- Tomnyan was originally based from a Corocoro Jibanyan form design contest held in August 2013, where the winning entry was of an American stereotype called Bobnyan (Japanese: ボブニャン Bobunyan). Interestingly, it was in the same issue where Yo-kai Watch 2 was announced to be in development despite the 'Merican theme not being covered until the next game in the series.
- The Japanese name of Tomnyan's Soultimate Move is called "One-Hundred Paws", which is actually an English translation of Jibanyan's Japanese Soultimate Move.
- In the English version, the name was changed to Centicuffs, which is derived from the word Centi (meaning one-hundreth) and "Cuff" (meaning to give a one-handed blow).
- Tomnyan's random nicknames in Yo-kai Watch 3 are Emilius, Tom-chan, Tomster, and Takeshi.
- Tomnyan is the only main anime character to not make an appearance in any of the three movies.
- He is the only Yo-kai who’s favorite food is Mega Tasty Bars.
- This is only in the main games, however. In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, two crossover Yo-kai have their favourite food as Mega Tasty Bars, Obocchama-kun and Suketoudara.
- Tomnyan is originally voiced by Kazuhiro Fusegawa in Japanese, while in the English version he is voiced by Meyer DeLeeuw.
- He and Jibanyan also share a similar backstory, with the only differences being that his owner was named Emily and that he died trying to save her from a speeding truck she was not aware of since she had her earphones in.
- Tomnyan and Jerry being roommates may be a reference to the titular cat and mouse duo, Tom and Jerry.
- Tomnyan may very well be friends with the Legendary Yo-kai Dandoodle, as Dandoodle requests a Mega Tasty Bar in BBQ (as part of the Take a Real Good Look! request) because his "Yo-kai cat friend" recommended it, which is Tomnyan's favorite food, and he's a cat Yo-kai in BBQ.
