Chapter 47 is the forty seventh chapter of Weak Hero.
Synopsis
Eugene signs up for single subject classes at Hero Cram School. He goes upstairs to take a look at the classrooms. Eugene’s goal is to get his grades up to at least match average. Eugene goes up to the third floor and sees how hard the students are studying. He notices that he’s felt someone looking at him for a while as a shadowy figure stands behind him. The figure calls out Eugene’s name and Eugene recognizes him as his friend, Rowan Im.
Rowan tells him that after arriving in Korea, it was decided that he’d be going to Eunjang and that he was worried that he wouldn’t know anybody. Eugene asks when did Rowan come back to Korea since his family moved out of the country back in middle school. Rowan says that his dad’s business didn’t go so well so they had to come back to Korea. Since it was sorted out what school he was going to attend, he thought that he’d get the basics down beforehand at cram school. Rowan says that Eugene is a changed man since he’s also going to cram school and Eugene says that he’s finally realized the importance of studying thanks to Gray’s reality check.
Eugene says that Rowan’s changed a lot and says he’s gotten taller and has a different vibe now. Rowan says he was popular before coming back and to just give him the word if Eugene needs to talk about something or needs help. Rowan claims that he can fight and over exaggerates that he might be at Jake’s level. He says most of the dudes out there think that they can fight but that he’d lay them out any day. Hugo bumps into Eugene and tells him to not block the way. Eugene looks around and notices that Rowan vanished but sees Rowan looking out the window and pretends to not have seen anything. He asks if Eugene’s aunt still runs Singil Vet and apologizes for moving schools without telling Eugene about it.
At Daehyeon, Jake tearfully asks Dean if Ace really is dead. Dean is annoyed by Jake’s overreaction. Jakes cries and shouts that he had a bone to pick with Oda. He calls Dean an emotionless psycho. He receives a phone call from Kingsley Kwan and angrily answers it. Kingsley tells Jake that he’s at Daehyeon’ front gate and asks where he is.
Kingsley walks over to where Jake and Dean are. Jake tells Kingsley they could’ve talked over the phone. Kingsley tells Jake that it’s best for him to participate in the upcoming assembly. Jake agrees since Donald wants him there. Kingsley says Donald is looking forward to seeing him too and if Jake does what he did last assembly, but Jake cuts Kingsley off and glares at Kingsley reminding him that he already said he’d go. Kingsley turns to leave but Jake grabs his shoulder and tearfully asks what Kingsley thinks about Ace’s death. Dean is annoyed by his friend’s behavior and shakes his head.
At Eunjang, Gray is washing his hands in the bathroom. He recalls Eugene saying that since Hyeongshin is the closest school to Eunjang and putting together what everyone’s been talking about, it all points to them trying to go for Ben. Other students in the bathroom quickly leave once they see Gray. Phillip enters the bathroom and has a stare down with Gray.
