Chapter 19 is the nineteenth chapter of Weak Hero.
Synopsis
Phillip Kim confronts Chad Jang about Gray's win against Teddy Jin. In an effort to save face, Chad downplays his role in failing to help, painting Teddy as "sporadic" and "out of control". Phillip is surprised that Teddy fell, and realizes that the beatdown is a performance to earn the respect of his peers. Ultimately, he dismisses Teddy's failure, opting to continue sending others against Gray until he breaks his will to fight. Chad continues to latch onto Phillip, too afraid to take on Gray himself.
The following Monday, Alex Go finally returns to Eunjang. Ben Park immediately embraces his best friend, and asks him about a pool rematch after school. Alex declines out of fear of another confrontation with Jimmy Bae. Ben invites him to talk before they leave, handing him a drink (which Alex notes is out of character) before heading off to class.
In Class One, Teddy realizes that Phillip has cut him out of his gang, and notices Chad ignoring him.
After school, Ben confronts Alex alongside Gerard Jin, having learned about the incident with Jimmy from the pool hall receptionist. While he acknowledges Alex's effort to protect him, Ben refuses to stand aside and let Jimmy push him around.
Meanwhile, Phillip and his goons steals Gray's backpack, and leaves Gray with a message to "come get it" at the incinerator after class. Phillip has chosen this day in particular to line up his shadow war on Gray with the arrival of Jimmy Bae and Yoosun. Gray realizes that to stop the bullying, he has to deal with Phillip directly, and he storms off to the incinerator.
