Klegg is the main antagonist in the Blake's 7 episode "Powerplay".
He was portrayed by the late Michael Sheard, who also portrayed Admiral Ozzel in The Empire Strikes Back and Adolf Hitler in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Biography
Klegg was the section leader in charge of the Terran Federation's Death Squad, with a reputation for brutality. After the battle with the Andromedans, he and his men boarded the abandoned Liberator. However, since the ship's computer Zen had been programmed only to obey orders from recognised crewmembers, they were unable to fully take control of it. Del Tarrant, another survivor of the battle, also took refuge on board and posed as a Federation captain, convincing Klegg to reluctantly hand over command to him.
Avon and Dayna teleported aboard and pretended to be fellow survivors taking refuge. Klegg suspected at least one of them was a member of Blake's old crew and tried to prove it by forcing them to give orders to Zen but Tarrant knocked Avon out before he could speak and the pair were imprisoned in a cabin. After finding them gone and the guard dead, Klegg organised a search of the ship but ended up accidentally killing one of his men, who had been knocked unconscious and dumped in a hatch which Klegg fired into without looking.
Klegg managed to capture Dayna and learned the truth about Tarrant, that he was a Federation deserter working as a mercenary and was responsible for the deaths of the guard and another of Klegg's men, as well as knocking out the man Klegg had killed. Klegg and his two remaining troopers set up camp in the teleport chamber where Klegg threatened to kill Dayna if the others didn't surrender.
Avon entered to negotiate and Klegg offered him a deal: He would teleport Avon and Dayna safely down to a planet if Avon turned over control of the ship to him and left him Tarrant. Avon appeared to agree, helping Klegg and his men capture Tarrant, but once Klegg's guard was down, the trio jumped the troopers. In the fight that followed, Klegg was choked to death by Dayna.
