Fatalis is an Elder Dragon introduced in Monster Hunter.
Physiology
Fatalis resembles a traditional European Dragon, with a long, serpentine neck and tail, along with a pair of large, yet muscular wings. Its body is covered in rigid black scales and lined with white spines along its back. Its head features four backwards-facing horns and rows of enlarged teeth, and fin-like ears. Like many other monsters, Fatalis has a pale underbelly, and like most other Elder Dragons, it possesses six limbs. Its forelimbs are surprisingly thin, belying immense strength.
Abilities
Fatalis is an extremely powerful monster which was able to destroy a kingdom by itself. Its primary weaponry lies in its flame breath, which can be utilized to produce either a stream of fire or explosive blasts. Fatalis is also able to release a cloud of flammable dust and set it alight, similar to Teostra. Its body can radiate incredible heat to the degree of melting metal that comes into contact with it, which it can use to pin down foes and burn them alive. Although it notably lacks other special abilities, the sheer power of its flames and the volume of which Fatalis can emit at once is virtually unmatched, with its fire breath being able to douse entire areas in a sea of flames that can melt through metal fortifications with little to no resistance.
In spite of its somewhat slender build, Fatalis exhibits extreme physical strength and stamina, using its whip-like tail, powerful jaws and limbs, and even its entire body to batter attackers. Even small movements from its body carry massive force, to the point where it can can plow through stone ruins without any visible resistance. Interestingly, the massive Black Blade located within a cave in Pokke Village has been noted to regenerate after Fatalis materials are mined from it, suggesting that Fatalis has extraordinary self-recovery abilities.
Fatalis' awakening also tends to be tied with a string of inexplicable natural disasters, although the exact nature of this is ambiguous.
Behavior
Not much is known about Fatalis' habits, but it is extremely hostile to all living creatures, especially humans, and will actively seek out opportunities to attack them. It also displays intelligence and even some form of sadism in some of its encounters with human hunters, such as with its tendency to melt hunters and their equipment to its hide to strengthen itself.
Habitat
Fatalis has only been observed at the ruins of Castle Schrade, the natural environment from whence it came is completely unknown.

G-Rank Fatalis (Monster Hunter Frontier G Genuine)

The G-Rank Fatalis from Monster Hunter Frontier G was initially revealed on Monster Hunter Frontier G3's official website. It is fought at Castle Schrade as a Conquest War Quest Monster. It was released in Monster Hunter Frontier G3.1 on January 8, 2014.
Apart from a few key differences, it has six horns instead of the Fatalis's four horns, and the chest now is glowing faint blue, which is possibly the new element Black Flame. It utilizes new and unique attacks.

Notes
General Notes
- "Fatalis" is a Latin adjective with connotations of lethality and destiny. Its Japanese name is Miraboreasu[1] (ミラボレアス), which might come from Moirai and Boreas.
- Fatalis is immune to any traps or hand thrown bombs (Flash Bombs, Sonic Bombs, etc.), although Barrel Bombs affect it, and it can be put to sleep, paralyzed or poisoned.
- Shooting it with the Ballista, cannon, or any other projectile when it is flying can cause it to fall.
- The face/head is the weakest part of Fatalis.
- Fatalis was voted 8th place in the Hunters' Choice for Top Monster during Monster Hunter's 20th Anniversary.[4]
- The theme; The Legend Decends - Fatalis: World Version Limitless Courage of Fatalis was voted among the top 10 music themes in the Hunters' Choice: Top 10 Monster Themes - Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary[5]
- A unique "variant" of Fatalis whose body parts glow purple when enraged appears in Dragalia Lost's crossover.
Monster Hunter 1
Monster Hunter Freedom 2
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
- For the G-Level Fatalis, you have to complete one of each G Training Quest with any weapons.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
- It also has an attack similar to Dire Miralis, in which it releases a powerful fireball in front of it that explodes on impact.
- Fatalis will still flee after a certain threshold of time and damage is surpassed.
Monster Hunter Generations
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
- If it is standing on hindlegs or flying, the flinch shot will force it to enter crawling stance, as well as dealing small amounts of damage.
- If it is crawling, it will be thrown normally like other monsters, and will be dealt heavy damage to its head if successfully launched into a wall. Regardless of the result, Fatalis will instantly become enraged afterwards.
- However, similar to Kulve Taroth and Shara Ishvalda, launching Fatalis into a wall will only stagger it instead of knocking it down.
- Fatalis' head can be broken twice, which reduces the power of its breath attacks during the final phase for each break, turning the flames from bright blue, to purplish-orange, to regular orange. Breaking its head will leave it laying still on the floor for several seconds.
- Fatalis also gains a pin attack during the final phase.
- Its fire breath will also leave patches of burning ground which deal damage over time to nearby hunters.
- Breaking Fatalis' head a second time will guarantee the drop of a Fatalis Evil Eye after the fight, regardless of victory.
- End of phase 1: Behind a metal plating to the right side of the arena. Fatalis has 80% HP left.
- End of phase 2: Behind a metal barricade that has to be manually raised behind the dragonators. Fatalis has 50% HP left.
- Final phase: Under the Fatalis itself. Fatalis performs the attack three times in this phase. The first when it has 40% HP left, the second one at 20%, and the third and final one when it has 5% HP left.
- It is possible to kill Fatalis before it initiates the final flame breath by disabling the Black Dragon for a long enough time.
- Plus, after slaying Fatalis, the first Monster Hunter victory theme (Triumph!) will play.
- The Title Update monsters excluded are Safi'jiiva and MR Kulve Taroth, most likely due to the time-limited nature of their quests.
- Fatalis' Armor is also the only set of armor which requires more than one of the associated monster's rare drop, requiring 3 Fatalis Evil Eyes.
