Candle Fox, "Principal Dance Socks"
Candle Fox is a supporting character in the series Kiff. She is a classmate of Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns at Table Town Middle School, and one of the duo's closest school friends, as well as the daughter of Roy Fox.
Profile

Candle Fox is the only child of famous film and TV producer Roy Fox, the head of Foxhole Productions. Her unseen mother is divorced from Roy.[3] Candle lives with Roy in a mansion in the suburbs of Table Town. She is a student at Table Town Middle School, where she attends Miss Deer Teacher's class with Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns and is part of the duo's core group of school friends, alongside Trevor Angstrom, Renée du Bedat, and Reggie. At school, Candle is also the leader of the Abras, a popular clique consisting of herself and her close friends Billiam, Kim Popularé, and Lizette.
Appearance
Candle is a fox with red fur, as well as patches of cream fur on her face, stomach, tail, and the insides of her ears, along with a dark brown oval-shaped nose. As of "Stramded", she wears clear "unseen-a" braces.
Personality

Being Roy Fox's daughter, Candle is often spoiled by her father and lives a wealthy lifestyle, residing in a mansion and owning numerous expensive toys and gadgets. While she occasionally displays snooty and pretentious qualities, Candle is an overall amiable and open-minded individual, tagging along with Kiff and Barry on numerous adventures. She is highly confident, and received the nickname "Exact Change" from Nick Namé because of her belief that "young people have the power to change the world... exactly."[2] Nevertheless, she has also shown occasional moments of vulnerability, most notably when one of her "chunky texts" nearly led to the breakdown of her friendship with Trevor.[4]

Due to her wealthy background, Candle has developed an impressive level of financial expertise for her age, and her wealth and connections have sometimes proven to be assets in her exploits with her friends. She owns a debit card,[5] runs a TableToob channel where she gives financial advice,[6] once won an amusement park game show by correctly guessing the price of an expensive piece of cheese,[4] and has mentioned that she was once caught skipping volleyball practice to trade stock tips by the town wharf.[7]
Relationships
Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns

In Candle's first major appearance in "Pool Party", Kiff and Barry are invited to Candle's birthday party at the Waterslide of Eternal Joy, but Kiff's attempt to help Barry get over his fear of swimming via Helen's magic indirectly leads to the party descending into chaos.
Later in "Two Truths and a Bunny", Candle invites Barry to replace a sick Lizette at an Abras sleepover, but calls him "Kiff", causing the duo to assume they are both invited; Candle later explains that due to Kiff and Barry's closeness, she sometimes confuses the two. At one point, Barry mentions that he thought Kiff and Candle were "adversaries", which Kiff denies, while also admitting that she is only attending to discover the secret meaning behind the Abras' name. However, Barry's inability to play two truths and lie at the sleepover convinces Candle that Kiff and Barry cannot be trusted to keep a secret, while Kiff calls the Abras "phony balonies" when they ignore Barry's expert deconstruction of Kim's lies.

Beyond this, however, Candle and Kiff are good friends, and Candle has played a supporting role in many of Kiff and Barry's adventures, typically with the rest of their "crew". In "Friendship in the Time of Cheese Caves", Kiff sparks Candle and Trevor's unexpected friendship by encouraging them to interact with each other more, and she later helps repair the friendship between the two.
Roy Fox

Roy loves and regularly indulges Candle, who enjoys a pampered lifestyle due to Roy's fame and wealth, to the point that he even lets Candle get involved in his professional life. In "Principal Dance Socks", Candle helps her school foil their deceptive rivals Tuft Pierre by convincing Roy to feature Table Town Middle School on his TV show Dancing on the Tables, and in "Blooper Quest", she gets Roy to finance the production of Kiff's film Found in Ambiguity. Nevertheless, in "Snow More Ketchup", Candle sides with her friends against Roy when he is suspected of hoarding and withholding ketchup from his guests in the Fox mansion during a snowstorm.
Trevor Angstrom

In "Friendship in the Time of Cheese Caves", Candle and Trevor are tasked with manning the sales booth at the class car wash despite their lack of chemistry, with Candle even refusing a simple high five from Trevor, but after Kiff's encouragement, the two become great friends. Trevor breaks off the friendship just days later, however, after being weirded out by a "chunky text" from Candle, greatly upsetting her. Kiff eventually manages to help Candle and Trevor reconcile, and in the process, Kiff discovers, to her annoyance, that the two initially bonded by making fun of Kiff's swim shorts.
In "The Haunting of Miss McGravy's House", Candle and Trevor, after initially making plans to go trick-or-treating together, instead decide to join Kiff in her plan to save Miss McGravy's house, where the two help make the living room look spookier.
Billiam, Kim Popularé, and Lizette

Candle and her friends Billiam, Kim, and Lizette make up the Abras, a highly popular clique at Table Town Middle School. The group derived their name from the final four letters in the word "candelabra" due to the word's similarity with Candle's name. In "Two Truths and a Bunny", Candle hosts a sleepover with the Abras at her mansion, which Kiff and Barry attend after Lizette falls sick with drooptail.
Of her fellow Abras, Candle is most frequently seen with Billiam, as both are in Miss Deer Teacher's class. In "Leave a Little Juice", Candle asks Billiam to take his muddy shoes off before entering her mansion at Roy's request, but their conversation unexpectedly turns emotional when Billiam interprets Candle's request as a sign that their friendship is failing.

Production
- Kiff writer Claytia Gonsalves has stated that Candle was originally intended to be Kiff's arch-nemesis, but the writing staff grew fond of Candle and decided to write her as a friendlier character, while still retaining her bold and popular personality.[8]

We ran into this fun problem where Candle was supposed to be Kiff's arch nemesis at school, but we loved her character so much we all sort of all became "Team Candle," and now that's reflected in her character arc. Don't worry, she's still a boss and "that girl.". Twitter. Retrieved on July 12, 2023.
