"Stramded" is the first segment of the third episode of the second season of Kiff. It is the sixty-ninth segment overall.
Synopsis
Kiff and the gang get trapped in the aerial tram and try not to lose their minds.
Plot
Candle has invited Kiff, Barry, Trevor, Renée, and Reggie to a "braces shower" party at her mansion to celebrate her getting new "unseen-a" braces. After school, the six head to the aerial tram station across the street to take a tram car to the mansion. The tram operator, Cherry Berry, tells the children that the car they will be taking is to be decommissioned the next day, and that they are its final passengers.
Shortly after ascending, the aging, creaky tram car stops moving and is left stuck hanging on its cable. Kiff uses the car's radio system to contact Cherry on the ground for help. However, on her way to the control room to restart the car, Cherry gets distracted tying her shoe, after which the Pone randomly appears and asks Cherry out on a date, causing her to forget about the children and leave. Assuming that no help will be coming anytime soon, Reggie volunteers himself to be the leader of their "new society" on the tram. Kiff reassures her worried friends that Roy will eventually notice their absence and come find them, and that in the meantime they should stay calm and rational to avoid ending up like the kids in the book Prince of the Fleas. Back at the Fox mansion, Roy is seen relaxing in an isolation tank.
While Kiff takes a nap, the others grow hungry, having not eaten before the trip due to Candle insisting that they save their appetites for her party. Trevor then reveals that he still has his bag of trail mix, despite Candle having earlier told him to throw it away. He rations the trail mix with everyone except Candle and is nominated by Reggie to be their new leader. Kiff then wakes up, unaware of what has transpired. The air conditioning system suddenly turns on, leaving the children freezing. Renée suggests that they should take inventory of all their supplies to ensure that they can endure the conditions in the car. Agreeing with her idea, Trevor hands over his leadership to Renée.
Candle unwillingly contributes her dental-themed party gifts to the inventory. Barry hatches an idea to use one of the gifts, a big box of floss, to create a giant net and use it to haul donuts from Cakie Bonut's truck on the ground below. For replenishing the children's food supply, Barry is named the new leader by Renée. Later, Reggie builds a podium using toothpicks from the inventory, anticipating that a press conference will be held once the children are rescued. Barry is impressed and decides to delegate leadership to Reggie once again, but Candle objects and points out that she has not yet had a turn as the leader. Kiff suggests giving Candle a turn for fairness, but the others refuse, blaming Candle for their current predicament. Kiff finds herself cast off to the other end of the tram car with Candle.
By now, 20 minutes have passed. At Kiff's suggestion, Candle offers the cleaning fluid for her braces as an addition to the inventory, and she is rewarded a portion of Trevor's trail mix in return. However, after chewing on the trail mix and cracking her new braces, she flies into a rage and chases after Trevor, while Reggie, Renée, and Barry chase after Candle. Noticing that their movement is rocking the tram car forward, Kiff wraps up the entire inventory in a package and pretends to take it all for herself to make the others chase after her, which eventually rocks the car all the way to the end of the tram line.
As the children disembark, Mr. RiPeppa is revealed to have been in the tram car the entire time as well, having chosen not to intervene because he was curious to see if the children would descend completely into madness like in Prince of the Fleas. With the situation resolved, the children make their way to Candle's party. Cherry passes the car on her way back from her date and wonders aloud if she forgot to do something.
